And that doesn't mean they're living in hell or denying reality.

It's an odd place to gingerly lecture people on an eastern-derived philosophy on life (and its a good approach in most facets). But I think you're taking it to the wrong crowd. Pro sports fans generally arent receptive because the whole draw of sports is founded on emotionally-based incentives. And its in the irrationality of fandom for a specific team/colours that people are drawn to participate. If we didnt have these debates of optimism/pessimism and direction we wouldn't have fandom to begin with.

You say don't sweat what you cant control, but it looks to me like you're pushing against fans saying things you can't control. They're going to speak their minds regardless of how sound you believe your arguments to be. So why not take your own wisdom?

Ironically your presence in post game threads hammering on the same argument tells me that you're one of the more perturbed ones here..respectfully.

To be fair though, Team Tank popping in and making every thread negative when they win and pushing trade X player narratives, why havent they traded x?! gets old.

Its a delicate balance this year to make it enjoyable.

Who's dramatizing? (look at the bold above)

You don't see panic in Rhett after every game?

It's tiring for me. I'll admit it. I'd prefer to talk about something other than how a loss is the end of the world after every game, but it's tough sledding because the push back on the panic (very real for that poster, and not dramatizing at all).

And it's not like they drafted the wrong player, or shouldn't have traded for prospect X. They've already won the game. They will win games. All the players will always try and win games. And the team can't trade players until the market gets established and their prices are met.

Pointless ...

You saw my list above ... pretty reasonable in my mind.

I think the chances of a Andersson resigning are growing a bit. Zero chance he walks for nothing though as long as he doesn't break a leg. I'd be fine with either scenario. He'll return a lot of we keep a good player.

Too many RD isn't a problem. You could trade any of them for a premium whenever you want

Segment three is much worse than segment two despite an easier schedule.

The team should have won more games in early late October and early November, and likely should be losing more now.

Things will correct again.
They played pretty badly last night, defensively. They got two lucky goals and Buffalo sucked.

It doesn’t look like the Flames are willing to do what it takes to get a top 3 pre lottery draft spot, but a good consolation prize would be eking into a playoff spot by bumping the first round pick-less Oilers out of one, then have the traded Oilers pick win the lottery.

The oilers pick has protection. If it's top 12, they can send an unprotected 2027 pick instead. I think.

They have lottery protection on that pick.

They don’t have protection on the 2026 pick if they trade the 2027 pick for help this year. Dare to dream.

Flames

Flames are just too good to be a bottom 3 team. My whole life(flames fan since ‘86) they have never bottomed out. I remember Fleury would always make us just good enough not to completely suck. I love what Conroy has been doing so far and I completely trust Todd Button on draft day. So in the end I guess I’m ok with them winning of late. But for me, it comes down to Rasmus and what the Flames do with him. I’m sorry but you have have have to trade him. He is going to be too old and expensive to be apart of the Flames ‘big picture’ plans. I don’t care where the Flames are in the standings, you trade him to the highest bidder. The return is going to be good and as Kuzy has already shown us. The Flames have younger d-men who be able to step in and play.

They're playing well in spite of Huska!

If Huska's thing was to continually mess with the lines, wouldn't he continue to mess with lines? Did he finally see the light? Why had no one told him until recently that he could keep the lines the same?

Is there a website somewhere that shows which players are tops and which ones are bottoms? Seems a bit TMI, if you ask me.

The tankers shouldn't be too concerned until you start doing game takes again after each game because the Flames have put themselves back in the race.

The Flames are a power bottom.
