I'm on my 13 Pro Max and the only reason I'm even considering an upgrade is that a couple of weeks ago, after the 50th drop, the screen finally cracked in some places. Even then, it's still usable, and I'm not really seeing much incentive.
Maybe if we were still talking a few hundred bucks for a phone, I'd upgrade more often. But this thing is now approaching laptop territory in terms of price, so it better be able to last at least 5 years.

I had a 12 pro and mainly upgraded to the 15 pro, because of usb-c. Although at my previous employer, I was often kitted with the latest iPhone. Before the 12, the 10 was provided to me, and the 12 and 15 have been purchased by me. I can see the slowing of upgrading continuing, just don’t see the need — tech is more than sufficient. Evidently, our anecdotes are the norm. The masses are upgrading less frequently.
I may replace the battery at some point, 88% 550 cycles.

I’m in the market for either an iPhone Pro 16 or 17. Camera is key for me and I understand that the 17 camera is enough of an upgrade to justify the higher cost.
Are there any good deals right now or should I wait perhaps until Boxing Day? I’m not in a rush.

Looking to get the kid a Macbook Air. His chromebook is a POS and is old. He just does school schit, no gaming on it type thing, browsing and school schit. Thinking the lowest level 13 incher.
Costoco is a whopping $10 cheaper than apple, but using my other kids university id its $140 cheaper. Should I not use my kids university ID and I'm missing something.

Costco usually also has AppleCare rolled into the price, if everything's equal it's almost always better to buy from there.

You the student discount if everything is the same. Like said above Costco almost always has AppleCare included in the price.
MacBook Air is an extremely capable device.

It says Applecare 'available' on the sign so I am doubtful.

You may want to consider the Apple Refurbished options as well if you want to save a few hundred bucks. I've bought a few computers from there and have had good success. Condition wise it's always pretty much looked new (and comes with warranty too).

I think you just get an additional year of warranty coverage. Table 5's suggestion is great though, a lot of the stuff is new, they are often just used briefly by sales staff for training.

"Costco extends the manufacturer's warranty on televisions, projectors, major appliances and computers (excluding tablets) to 2 years from the date of purchase if the manufacturer's warranty is less than 2 years."
Also +1 for Apple Refub, have used them in the past as well and everything I've got there looked brand new.

Wealth Simple offers a free Macbook Air if you transfer in $100k and keep it in for 2 years.
