Also the flames are 3 games below 500 but they've played 18 games on the road and only 13 at home ice.. (Where our goalies rock)

I'm not seeing us careening down the standings..

This seems crazy to me. The Flames have been horrible. Somehow a 7-2-1 steak puts them into playoff contention. And with 50 games left, it doesn't take all that much to make up those three points. You can talk about needed X record to make the playoffs for the rest of the year, but one good week puts them back into position.

OTOH, if you look at this winning streak, only two wins were against teams that are any good (and those were Minnie and Fla who each played a horrendous game). They lost games against average to good teams like Winnipeg, TB, Carolina, Nashville, Chicago. They've had a pretty easy run lately: Buffalo, Utah, Vancouver are all crappy teams.

Right.... That Kadri needed to succeed was Sharangivich and Farabee.... Totally saw that one coming.

If Huberdeau can get going this team doesn't suck?

It's not a coincidence that the forwards started playing better once Huska made some consistent lines and stopped messing around when them every single game

I think I've heard Zary, Sharangovich, and Kadri mention that in interviews now I think about how the consistency in linemates has helped.

That line has been clicking. Kadri is very much a play driver and one of the few that we have.

Ironically, those 3 can be trade targets down the road if they continue to play together.

I am not worried at all about the Flames suddenly feeling the need to keep Andersson. If they were going to keep Andersson, then he would have been re-signed by now. He isn't going to walk as a UFA.

Half of me hopes that he gets traded right before the Olympics, mostly simply because of a potential injury. However, I think his value - and the market overall - dramatically increases after the Olympics. Teams haven't accrued much cap space yet, plus the Olympics are sure going to produce a number of injuries, forcing some teams to make moves.

Just enjoy the wins. Flames are 4th last and are on a bit of a heater, but they also have 3 games in hand on last place Nashville. They just need to stay in range, and when the trades start to happen, I imagine this team will more or less implode. They are not playing like a bottom-tier team right now, and haven't been for a long time. Credit to Huska and the leaders on the team, just like last season. They are playing gutsy, they got some lucky bounces last night, and they are fun to watch right now. Just sit back and enjoy it. I mean, you or I can not do a single thing about it other than choose to enjoy it, or choose to fixate on the standings, right? Might as well just sit back and enjoy it for now.

Things will happen, I am sure. I trust that Conroy knows what should be done, and I am sure he will get the job done.

I can also see us extending Andersson now. We had a huge opportunity to get a top 3 pick by trading these guys, but it is too late now. Ownership is not going to allow it with us 3 points out of a playoff spot.

We had an opening to possibly become elite one day, but we are cooked now. We just have to hope we hit on all these later draft picks now.
Where have I heard that before? Surely not from Rhett. Oh….wait.

Went to bed after the 1st….last day of a long and annoying flu bout…watched the highlites on DTMTS…looked like there were some fun moments there. The boys looked happy. Hrudey sounded goofy. WTF is with him?

Sharky looked great, looked like Wolfie was thinking about other things (CONGRATS!).

Patience, folks.

Or, possibly, he kept switching the lines until he found ones that worked and then stuck with them.

Every team does well for a bit, even the crappy ones.

This team is not crappy. They aren't elite or a contender, but they had 97 points last season.

They are starting to erase the disastrous start and IMO are much more likely to end up drafting 10 to 15th overalll than top 5 at this point. Unless they move Rasmus, Kadri and Coleman that is, but the longer they keep rolling the less likely they will trade Kadri or Coleman. Ras will get traded though, I highly doubt CC would walk him to free agency.

Zero chance this team is moving Coleman, Kadri, Andersson now. It will be the same same we hear every season about the team needing a chance to prove itself now that it is playing better hockey and only a few points out.

The eternal merry go round continues to spin with too many players that are good enough to keep the team competitive, yet never good enough to beat the big boys.

How many times do you need to hear Conroy talking about not walking vets to free agency before you exclude Andersson from the above list?

The Flames are 29th in the NHL after a 3 game win streak, Tankers in shambles.

The Doom and Gloom posts are quite amusing. Team Tank seems close to panic mode now, which makes me wonder why they don’t just switch to being fans of a different team.

Some posters seem to think they should be on an 82 game losing streak or the season is a complete disaster.

As one Iiving in Europe I enjoy waking up and watching the highlights of the last Calgary game. And watching them win sure beats losing.
