Desperate times/measures and all that.
Quote:
The Colts' quarterback saga has taken another twist.
With starter Daniel Jones out for the season with a torn right Achilles and backup Riley Leonard dealing with a knee injury, the Colts could, shockingly, turn to retired NFL great Philip Rivers as a possible emergency solution.
Indianapolis will host Rivers, who last played in the NFL in 2020 with the Colts, for a work out on Tuesday, sources confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter. A decision on signing Rivers has not yet been made, while Rivers himself has yet to decide whether he would be willing to play, a source said.
While it's unclear if Rivers is in football shape after being away from the game for so long, he would have intimate knowledge of the Colts' offensive scheme and would be a seamless addition in terms of working with head coach Shane Steichen. The two worked closely together during Steichen's days as the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive coordinator before Rivers' one season with the Colts.

On the road against Seattle? Less than ideal 5 years between starts.
Maybe they could see if Mark Sanchez is available

Rivers I don’t think is in any physical shape at this point.
Russ or Diamond Joe can continue his Midwest 2025 journey.

Protecting the ball seems like an optional concept in this one.

That's an even worse drop for the TD by AJ.

You would think the Eagles will still be ok for winning the division cause they have Washington twice and the Raiders and they just need to win those and Dallas can't catch them, but can you really trust them to win those with how meh to poor they've been all season?

They have had injuries on the offensive line but what team hasn't at this stage of the season? It's like the moment Kellen Moore left the Eagles building, he took the offense with him.

It would be so, so funny to send 44 year old Phil off to his untimely death in Seattle facing that pass rush... dude was a statue in his prime. What would we be looking at there, 10 sacks?

Just on the Chiefs bit for a second - I see this playing out like the Avs. Have one really down year, draft high, and then bounce back.

The Chargers/Chiefs a big game, because if Chargers lose, they and Colts may not win another game this season. Chiefs would still have to win out, but...
