No kidding. Zero context for this. They had him pitch game 7 of the WS. If he’s got something that may keep him out a month or more it suddenly makes him picking up the option as quickly as he did, a little less about team friendly and more Shane career friendly.

It was nice not hearing the garbage come out of Atkins mouth for a while last year, but Berrios getting demoted and to the point he wasn’t on the bench for the WS doesn’t sound like everything is a ok as Atkins is trying to bring across.

And yes Suarez would be great. Padres had a good team with good peices that the ownership just can’t afford.

Probably still not 100% recovered from TJ, I think I read somewhere late in the season that Bieber mentioned that while he felt good enough to pitch he wasn't where he wanted to be quite yet and it would take some time

All you can do is laugh. And just hope the Jays can close them out next time.

It's just pure greed. And Detroit will probably settle for lesser return because teams just don't have the balls to bend them over and make them pay premium.

Getting Skubal out of the AL would be pretty sweet. If the downside is that we have to face him in the World Series, that’s a pretty awesome problem.

I read recently Berrios wasn’t there due to some personal situation, not sure what that means or if it’s just air cover.

Schwarber back to the Phillies and it sounds Ike Diaz is going to the Dodgers.

Of course the Dodgers would land the best closer

May Diaz's arm blow out in his first game.

I want to hate the Dodgers, but at the same time I want the Jays to go out buy up all the big names on the market too.

Seems.weird to say this being a fan of a team with one of the highest payrolls, but a salary cap cant come soon enough. The Dodgers are just making a mockery of major league baseball at this point.

They dropped 75 million on a closer last year and he had a pedestrian year for him. Now they sign the premier closer this year and watch Scott bounce back in a set up role with Edwin ####ing Diaz behind him closing.

True but we will always be second fiddle to them. Probably the only reason we got Cease this year is because I doubt the Dodgers even kicked tires on him to be honest.

3 years 69 million for Diaz.

Just Saurez and Fairbanks left for the more proven closers types.

That was actually a very reasonable deal for both term and dollar value for Diaz. The good news is Saurez should come cheaper. Fairbanks really doesn't move the needle much for me. Him and Hoffman just seem to be set up men mostly at this stage of their careers. Suarez or nothing. But I prefer if they get Bo back again.

That's a cheaper deal than I expected for Diaz.

Also, I haven't seen Skubal to Dodgers linked anywhere else, so it's odd that no insiders have picked up on that if there have been advanced discussions. Hopefully not true.

Dodgers getting Skubal and Diaz would be absolutely criminal. I don't even want to think about that rotation.

Sorry, don't know how to embed. Morosi saying Jays and Mets are hot to trot for Suarez.
