I'll take a Flames W. Get the guys feeling good putting up some points, and increasing their trade value.

The Flames still have the hardest schedule remaining, with only 1 game left against each of the bottom 4 teams in NSH, VAN, BUF, and STL. At the same time we have 3 games remaining against COL, 2 against DAL, WSH, and VGK, and even 4 games against ANA.

In comparison, NSH has the 12th hardest schedule, BUF has the 14th hardest, and VAN has the 17th hardest.

Is the LOL saying he's wrong about the schedule?

Tankathon has the Flames with the hardest schedule.
Power Rankings has the Flames with the fourth hardest schedule.

Seems to have some merit.

Flames have 2 back to backs left and one is at the end of the year. I actually agree with him to a point, probably for different reasons though. The win % of the opponents is slightly higher but the travel is waaaaay easier than it has been.

Are we assuming that back to backs isn't figured into either site's analysis of toughest schedule?

Not sure I'd make that leap.

Not a rub on you ... but I have always found the use of LOL creepy. Seems manic and odd to me.

So the models are wrong because you're laughing about Ducks games?

Models can say whatever. We play in the worst division in the league. All the whiners can whine after a win but we will never finish bottom 3. LOL!

I don't know what they factored in but the Flames travel schedule has been insane...like a Calgary Utah back to back lol, 3 games in less than 4 days, one game homestand between 2 eastern trips with Vancouver mixed in. Their travel is insanely easy from now on compared to compressed schedules around the league.

They likely count back to backs somehow but Calgary/Utah back to back is a little different than Flyers/Pens ect.

I think it might be. But you’re not going to build the whole team through the draft.

At some point the conman is going to have to get off his wallet

I give next to zero weight to these strength of schedule analyses done by sites like tankathon. The differences are minor and not nearly as relevant as how a team is playing at the time. Flames are playing way above their record and IMO it’s because the start was an anomaly.

You know what... you're right. He feel off my radar during his 23-24 season, but he bounced back big time last year. He's on pace for a bit of a drop off this season, but it's time to start paying attention to him again.

So are you predicting the Flames win 3 out of 4?

I still see too much to like about UPL to start counting him out. (Not directed at you, just quoting you because you brought him up.)

I think he needs, in no particular order:

- Out of Buffalo
- A better (or maybe just different) goalie coach
- A sports psychologist

I just think most of what's wrong with him right now is upstairs (both figuratively and literally).

To be fair, the only reason I knew that is a dumb Habs friend of mine was hoping to get him for a bunch of spare parts and was arguing he wasnt a 40 goal scorer

Rebuilds never work. All teams that have a bad season turn out like Buffalo. Or so I'm told.
