Off topic: My all time favorite car salesman line came when my mother was picking up her new 1998 Honda CR-V. The car was initially designed in Japan for that market and had some interesting quirks which I loved!

Long story short it didn't have a cigarette lighter (still common in Domestic ) nor did it have a standard CD/tape player, only radio. When my mom joked that my smoking father wouldn't be too pleased (he never smoked in cars) the sales guy piped up that "Honda does not condone smoking"

Of course this was after my mom was sitting around with 2 monster kids (bro+me) in the office for an hour working basic details. The sales guy came back with a sad look on his face "My boss yelled at me, he's not happy with the price" FATA

BTW: Those were absolutely amazing cars, bullet proof and top Honda quality.

Plus if you are gonna go 15 under the limit 100% of the time, that is the car to do it.

I ended up with my wife's CR-V years ago (long story), and it lasted only about three weeks before I traded it in. It was basically a tin can, and I couldn't stand that thing.

Windows 11 drives me up the wall. Why in the world does it insist on shifting the icons on your toolbar, right when you click to open? Whoever designed that stupidity should never work again.

And really, does no one use their own product? It would be unbelievable that someone is working at Microsoft using this, and running into the same issues, thinks "yes, let's roll that one out".

I'm not even sure what you're referring to. Do you mean when the system has freshly booted into Windows and still loading tray applications?

I guess it happens when I go along the toolbar and switch from one application to another. Maybe I’m a Luddite and should be using a keyboard shortcut, but I’m still in the habit of using my mouse/trackpad and for some reason the icons move. It’s just so annoying.

I'm using Windows 11 as I type this message and the only way that happens for me is if I'm holding the left mouse button down as I try to click on an application.

Maybe try using Alt+Tab for switching as a backup?

Yeah, I'm thinking it might accidentally be detecting a 'tap' with your trackpad -- this is the same as pressing and holding left-click, which would drag the icon you passed over as it detected this.

Alt + Tab is the way to go for quick window switching, and Windows Key + Tab brings up the persistent task switcher.

It is actually really strong. I used it to kill weeds, and it worked great. Lots of collateral damage, but that was a price I was willing to pay. I may try it out and report back. But don't hold your breath. I think the technique of the scraper in one hand and a torch in the other may be the winning combo. Melt enough that basically the weight of the scraper does the job.

For the first part I am contractually obligated to say "Get a Mac." I do love them compared to PCs but they do have their own gremlins that are annoying but not at the All Star level of windows.

I so agree with the second part though. Try to connect HDMI cables to a TV on the wall. Who would ever want to do that? #### you Samsung. Or anytime you have to work on something and the only access is just a bit too small and the screw is pointed the wrong way to get a screw driver on it! F, U, Universe.

I thought that the torch would be excellent for ice, and unfortunately, it's not that great. It's incredibly slow, and the enjoyment fades pretty fast when you're standing around waiting for the fire to do its thing.

Yup, my buddy tried it and found the same. So slow.

I guess it depends what you are doing with it. Cleaning up it works great. Packed snow from tires, pretty good. Big chunks of ice, slower, obviously.

Still a hell of a fun way to start a campfire though!!!

Not bad, and it also depends on the ambient temperature. I tried it on some super thick ice when it was really cold, and that was just futile.

So the dealer got back with the winter tires they are now gonna provide and they appear to be the cheapest ones on the shelf. WTF are Uniroyal? Might just ghost them for a week or so and see what happens.

Uniroyal Tiger Paws? Those used to be our go to back in the 90's. Great with studs, average without. They've been around Canada forever, just not a hugely popular brand.

I guess, just have never heard of the brand. Apparently Firestone. Buddy said premium brand and package on Saturday. Might be double finger with a dick out.
