The video is 3 years old, so that shouldn't be surprising.

Call me crazy, but he doesn’t look THAT different here than those highlights. Maybe he’s lost a step but it also seems like guys just buried much more consistently on his passes

That wasn't really the point. Gaudreau was in his prime in Calgary, back when this video was made. They were quite similar players except Huberdeau was more consistent back then year to year, and of course, Huberdeau could use his siize better. Gaudreau had better edge work.

With 2 more goals tonight in a blowout of a top 20 team, Wyttenbach now has 26 points in 19 games on a Top 10 team that has played a difficult schedule
Not sure this guy is getting the attention he probably deserves. What he's doing doesn't happen often.

Do we have a comparable for this guy? Seemingly comes out of nowhere and that doesn't do anything spectacular but just suddenly scores a ton of points? Is he like a Cheechoo or a one hit wonder guy? Moss?

He was 7th in the USHL in points per game last year on a team without really any other scorers. Seems like the kid just gets points.

I wonder if he was even on the radar for USA Hockey for the WJC?
They obviously have a lot of star power but now, hindsight 50/50 and all that.

When I was watching videos of him after getting drafted and seeing some of the fancy stat people online saying how much they loved the pick I was pretty excited. But this is definitely exceeding expectations. Fantastic season so far.

There was also the “US Collegiate Selects” sent to the just-completed Spengler Cup (where they were runners-up). They had a number of interesting D1 names.

I have not watched any highlights of him. Does he have a comparable play style in the NHL?
Is there a reason he still seems to not be on USA hockey’s radar despite the production he has shown in his draft year and his D+1 season so far?

Seems like another difference maker was left off the WJC this year, ending with an unexpected loss for them. I bet Wyttenbach would have made a difference for them.

19gp/11g/16a/27pts,+6, 6 PIM, tied for 8th in NCAA scoring, but he's 5th in ppg (1.42).
In the USHL last year, he was tied for 22nd in USHL scoring, with 44gp/24g/27a/51pts, but his ppg of 1.16 was 8th-best in the league.

Wytennbach's 18 so still eligible to play in the World Juniors next year, would be interesting to know how on the radar he is for team USA. Quinnipiac has a good team and he's leading the team in scoring by six points. The guy after him, Chris Pelosi is two years older at 20 in his second season, a third round pick from 2023 to Boston.
