I haven't been on the 'Fire Huska' train too much until now......he's doing too well, he's screwing up their draft position. Might be time to can him and bring in someone else.

Team played well, competed well. Not good for the tank.

The Vancouver Canucks of all teams are now 32nd. A team that consists of Boeser, Pettersson and Hughes. A team with 3 stars to beat us out of a better chance at 1st overall. Then there's Flordia right there as well.

This is going to turn into a Buffalo rebuild if they keep delaying the inevitable.

A huge thing to say right now but the frustration is valid.
In no way is that a stab at Conny, I believe in what he's doing for the organization. The rest of upper managment has me saying otherwise.

We had to watch the Canucks dominate most of the 2010's
Recently watch the Oilers dominate (if you can even call it that) the 2020's.
Last thing this fanbase needs is another divisional rival to have a generational talent.

I understand it's still early in the season but the scare/frustration is there.

Well to be a Buffalo style rebuild you need to pick 1st overall twice and 2nd overall twice. Flames are not there yet.

True that, meant more in the longevity part of it.

In the west out of the 10 teams ( including the 2 holding them) chasing the 2 wild card spots, only one team has a winning record in their last 10 games.

Yup west conference is so bad that if they keep this up 2 teams might get in with 87 or 88 pts!

Yikes

Also 3 sure things in life. Taxes, death and Flames winning when scoring 4 or more goals.

42 in a row now… almost 2 full years as last time they lost when scoring 4 was December 12th 2023.

Team Tank needs to relax.

The Flames are tied with Boston and the Rangers with the most games played and have played 2 more games than Vancouver and Nashville. They still have the lowest points percentage in the league.

Buffalo’s issue was never that they didn’t tank hard enough.

And the Canucks and Oilers haven’t dominated anything. The Canucks got out of round 2 once in the 2010s and were out of the POs 5 years out of that decade. The Oilers have had two runs which were smoke and mirrors, and have been pretty mediocre in the regular season, usually lower middle of PO teams.

Record needed to ...

Make the playoffs : 105 point pace the rest of the way.
To NOT draft in the top 10 : 96 point pace the rest of the way.
To NOT draft in the top 5 : 87 point pace the rest of the way.

Top 5 maybe.

But the Flames were a 96 point team last year with a lot going right. The sell off of some assets should pretty much nuke the chances of not drafting in the top ten.

And that's at least.

I could see a big skid when Andersson is dealt.

Some people need to relax a little. Flames are still, by points %, the worst team in the league, even after their current hot streak. They've luckily banked a lot of losses earlier in the season to shield themselves from finishing in the mushy middle.

I expect as other teams start ramping up the second 20 game set, we'll see Flames get those coveted losses. They had to play above their heads just to be barely over .500 over the last stretch of games.
