I think whatever is inside to provide resistance to this has just worn out over time. Second, my black bill holder has torn on one half at the bottom. Probably my fault for having too many items in it at times.
You can use something like a key or similar and just rough up the felt as a fix, that is even suggested on the secrid website.

I will also say that my secrid is awesome and it is going strong coming up on a decade.

This is where I've gone too. One credit card and driver's licence in my phone case. It'll fit one folded bill as well. If I need to carry more cash it just goes in my pocket.

I have a wallet. One that the cards come out like a switch blade. Holds 5 cards and has a cash spot (though it folds the bills into 4). Leather and looks ok but I only carry it around when I have to, which is rarely.

This! Not long ago I left my wallet in my centre console after hitting a drive thru on the way to work. I literally had to go out and get it after a couple of hours because it just didn't feel right.

I also had no idea how much I subconsciously do a "pat check". Every single time i got up I tapped my phone in my front pocket and my wallet in my back pocket and every time I didn't feel my wallet there my heart skipped a beat. I had no idea how often I did that without ever realizing it or thinking of it.

CP group buy with a massive discount?

Don’t need a group buy for a discount

Just missed our Black Friday sale on them but if there is a particular one I could send a discount code on our site to whoever wants one.

I don’t have any trips down to Calgary till Jan so I would have to ship them unless nobody is in a hurry.

Thanks everybody for the input! I just ordered a Popov Traditional Bifold Leather Wallet as I think it looks like the best fit for me. There was a discount code so it came in just over a hundred bucks.

I think a couple of people mentioned the Popov so thanks!

Incidentally it is 100% Canadian according to the website.

While I do have a wallet, sometimes I wear a small vegan leather handbag from Mat & Nat and it's so much more practical in 2025.

Advantages based on experience
- You won't mess up your posture sitting on it
- Holds your phone, your keys, your charger, your power bank, and your Nintendo Switch.
- Even holds your wallet
- You can even put snacks in it. Fibre bars, chocolates, protein shakes
- Women start conversations with you if they like it
- Great for travel, holds your passport for easy access at airports

I realize historically this was more a womens' thing because men just needed their keys and wallet, while women needed a place to put menstrual stuff and makeup, but with huge ass phones, and digital money I think we are going to see a paradigm shift. I admit sometimes I am a little insecure about "wearing a purse" but it

I was given a Bellroy https://bellroy.com/products/note-sleeve-wallet 15 years ago for Christmas, and 18 months ago I finally had to replace it so I got the above RFID model.

They were sold at some now-closed store with a name I can't recall - on the second level of Chinook over in the corner across from Nike. Sold semi-fancy wallets, watches, boxers, etc.

I rock a simple black Calvin Klein wallet that was close to $100.00. Think I've had it close to a decade. Prior i would buy these cheaper ones that would break down or transfer material to cards and need replacing on a regular basis.

I don't know where the line is, but $100.00 seems reasonable for something of decent quality you use every day.

Agreed. Depending on how long it lasts.

These are great because they provide added protection for your cards, but also have some give so you can sit down. You can line them with foil for RFID protection really easily. Plus they come in a three pack, so you can have a backup and gift one to a friend. And can your wallet also hold a snack? Because mine can.

Wallets should cost no more than $50, be leather or some type of canvas or durable fabric, and hold no more than 5-6 cards or the equivalent (4 cards and your insurance and registration). If you’re spending more than that you’re just blowing money for literally no reason on a completely utilitarian object (though I can forgive the wallets that attach to your phone).

Guys with costanza wallets, long wallets, metal/plastic/“tactical” type wallets, overly expensive wallets… says nothing good about you. Go to therapy.
