Maybe credibility isn't the right word. I definitely like to have my own style. I like a classic look with most things. My wallet doesn't look expensive and has no brand names. But a nice leather wallet has a classic look to it that I like.

Not my style to have a $1,000 Louis Vuitton wallet or, on the opposite spectrum, a velcro wallet.

I don't wanna hear any of y'all complain about money again.

$36 for a key ring?

I used a zip tie for a long time

and $200+ for a wallet

Ain't nobody got time for that

Yeah, I really cant say enough good things about TUMI, for my birthday about 10 years ago I got a briefcase/shoulder bag and a wallet and I use them every day and they still look like they just came from the showroom.

They're convenient and durable and I think quite stylish. But if you're paying for it, you're paying for it.

Another way of looking at it though is, even if I were to have paid for them, at 10 years the cost/day is almost nothing and if they last another 10 years...which I dont doubt they could, the overall cost over time is almost nothing. Very worth it.

I don't think I have carried any cash in 5 years. I guess in Mexico I did but definitely not here.

All my cards are on my phone now except my license and AB Health card, so my wallet's pretty thin these days - just a backup Visa in addition to the other two.

I also use a wallet with a chain, which draws far more attention than I like but I tend to lose anything not tethered to me now.

I have such a hard time finding the right wallet that I literally use a leather business card holder.

If anyone knows of a small, bifold slim wallet with a photo ID sleeve on one side with room for 4 cards max and is the smallest size possible, I'll buy it in a second.

I tried one that met my requirements but it was still at least an inch too big in length and width compared to what I'm using now.

I'm just not convinced with paying by phone or watch. I've been places where they cant accept that type of payment, granted thats gradually improving, but I always have at least a backup card and a little cash on me. Just in case.

Phone payment works anywhere tap works, I find.

It's more secure than using your CC since no numbers are visible, and your phone doesn't actually store your CC number.

I had one of those. It was perfect, but eventually wore out. I think it was a leather Rip Curl.

It was a lot like the small one in this two for one

I think whatever is inside to provide resistance to this has just worn out over time. Second, my black bill holder has torn on one half at the bottom. Probably my fault for having too many items in it at times.
If you want I think you can bring your wallet to one of their authorised retailers and they can replace the felt that holds the cards and probably replace the bill holder too. Not sure how much they'd charge though.

Ya it’s a simple fix. I have a kit at my shop and can do it quite easily. We don’t charge but not sure if others do or not.

I stopped carrying my wallet in back pocket because bank cards were always getting cracked. Also, you won’t get pick-pocketed if you keep wallet in front pocket.
Someone understands. Always carry my wallet in my front pocket.

Up to $250 CAD, so it depends what you're doing / buying and where you're going as to whether or not you can rely solely on tap.

Isn't the limit determined by the card (issuer)?

For instance, I have a UK CC for business that I occasionally use in Canada and I've found that I can tap >$400 with it here... Haven't looked into the reason why, but assumed it perhaps had something to do with a combination of the unknown-to-me higher tap limit and £/CA$ forex (i.e £250 = ~$460CA).

Like Cecil I use a leather business card holder. Got it free as a sample sale giveaway about 10 years ago. Couple more years I may need to find a replacement.

And if I have cash in there, I just fold it into thirds.

The limit was lower initially and increased during the pandemic if I recall. You can also have the limit increased on request depending on the institution, but by default, it's $250.

For your British CC, it might be down the exchange rate. You can only tap to about $179 in the US if your limit is the default $250 CAD for the same reason.

I presume people are putting these in their front pockets?

The issue I have with that is that I can't feel it there. If I'm wearing not tight pants, there's a good chance the card holder could fall out of my pocket when I'm sitting down.

I need to feel my wallet, phone, and keys in my pockets at all times or I have an anxiety attack.
