Avatar have a new album out Dont Go In The Forest, title song:

I must say I enjoy the brevity they bring to metal. Most bands are so damn serious. Not to mention they're still so fun and awesome live.

One of the best live acts IMO. They usually always steal the show regardless of who they are opening for.

Alicia White-Gluz is out as the lead singer of Arch Enemy. It was just a quick, boilerplate post about separate ways blah blah blah.

surprising, but she'll just be fine on her own. She's done some solid work as a solo/feature artist already.

as for Arch Enemy, curious to see where they go from here. Replacing a successful singer once is hard enough, but doing it twice ... rough.

Speaking of local shows, my Band Sludgeburg will be playing a show at Verns on December the 13th.

Spoiler!

Yeah it will be tough to find a replacement again. I’m assuming they would only consider a woman lead as that’s been their schtick for quite some time. At least there’s a lot of women in metal these days compared to even 10 years ago.

I'm really enjoying the new Sunken album. It's late in the year, but it's approaching one of my favourite releases of 2025. Very atmospheric music.

I'm always up for listening to Touch of Red but I don't think that's what you intended to link.

Something weird is going on with this post. I got a Converge song (Heaven in Her Arms) and looks like Ponch got something else. When I looked at it using Firefox (and not signed in) I saw the Sunken YouTube song which is like 11 minutes long. Anyway, here is a new Converge song...

Hah, for me it shows as Unleash the Archers - Apex. That's the weirdest youtube bug I've seen in awhile

on my phone, it's the full Sunken album stream - on my PC, it's a single Sunken song. Crazy stuff.

The new Tribal Gaze album is one of the best death metal releases this year:

That makes sense because I usually have In Flames on my YouTube rotation so regardless of what he's linking, your feed will be something you have previously listened to instead.

I've never listened to Sunken before (I'll check them out though!), so that doesn't explain it. Weird.

I finally listened to the Sunken song. I liked it, reminded me of Insomnium's "Winter’s Gate"
