Jimmy Carr tickets went on pre-sale today. He's in Calgary September 22nd.

I snagged 5th row from the stage in Halifax for November 21st.

It's the 27th, but thanks for the reminder. Grabbed a ticket.

It never need be said as it is always implied, but E=NG.

The first two openers were pretty bad, and I don't know what set Rawlings did in Calgary but he was average at best. Lots of singing, grunting, sound effects, and funny faces. Turns out that was the more appropriate approach for the Edmonton crowd as people were generally enjoying it.

Dave started great. Got a few topical jokes in, including Trump sucking dick and Charlie Kirk being an #######. Some people are saying that's where the tone in the crowd shifted, but it really went completely off the rails with about 30 minutes left in his set.

First, during his falcon bit, some dung brain shouted "we didn't come here to hear about animals" and promptly got his ass kicked out. Then Dave, for some reason, thought it was a good idea to engage with the crowd. He asked what else goes on in Edmonton besides oil and hockey, and some fine young s###head yelled "best coffee shops in the world". Dave: "In the world? Coffee? That doesn't even grow here." That was funny.

But then he made his big mistake: he started encouraging them. He said something along the lines of "after all my years in comedy this might be the crowd I've been looking for". Well that just gave the City of Morons permission to up their game. They started yelling and screaming on a constant basis. The sound in Rogers Place is absolute dogs### so people were yelling that they couldn't hear him, and then Dave got after the sound guy and tried to make a few jokes but the crowd was relentless.

The last 20-25 minutes he just gave up, walked around the stage looking at his watch, and counting down his time like Burr in Philly. We likely only got about 20 solid minutes of his planned set. What a disappointment.

F### Edmonton.

Wow, that is the complete opposite of Calgary. I thought that all four of them were funny, and it just got better and better with each new guy. Overall, it suffered just from being in the Saddledome, due to its size, but it was hilarious.

That's brutal.

Reminds me of the time I saw Charlie Murphy live. The crowd just kept yelling Chappelle Show quotes at him. He told them repeatedly to stop, but the crowd was full of buffoons who thought yelling "I'm Rick James B***" was the funniest thing in the world. Totally ruined the show and Charlie Murphy got through about a 1/2 of his material.

I also see why Chappelle made the decision to quit his comedy show back in the day. A bunch of ignorant, mostly white, A-holes shouting black lingo at him.

Saw Jimmy with Jim Jeffries last year. Great show. Their opener was a typical Houstain mothership dweeb but Carr and Jeffries delivered. Lots of clowning on the people that were there and didn't realize they were the butt of the jokes.

They're... absolutely nothing alike as comedians? Perhaps aligned politically (I doubt that outside of maybe being big believers of anything is fair in comedy), but stylistically they're so far apart. Jimmy Carr is a mean, angry Mitch Hedberg.

I'm still glad I went. As much as it was a cactus in the ass missing out on over half of his material, it's interesting to be part of a show that went so astronomically bad. Dave flat out said he's never had a show like that.

Sucks for the people that paid $400-$500 for floor seats on day 1.

Well, its certainly not an experience you're liable to forget anytime soon.

One of my most memorable live shows was a Brian Jonestown Massacre show where Anton Newcombe, the lead singer, showed up very late and clearly intoxicated. Halfway through his set, someone through a water bottle at him. He threw a fit an then stormed off the stage.

I went to one of his shows a few years later. Anton had totally cleaned up and was walking through the crowd. He stopped and chatted with me and my friend for a bit. Now that he's cleaned up, his drug fueled antics can be looked back on less tragically.

One of my most memorable shows was Norm Macdonald show...it started off badly and proceeded to get worse...he was so drunk he could barely stand and most of the show ended up being him and hecklers.

But I wont forget it.

Not really. He said he drank did bad things as a boy, but not in adulthood. He had done interviews about his not drinking.
