Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo collaborating is weird, which makes it good.

Katie Crutchfield has teamed up with her twin sister and MJ Lenderman to form a new band, Snocaps.

Also, Henry Rollins and Ian MacKaye are recording music together.

The Rheostatics have a new album, featuring Canadian music legends like Alex Lifeson, and Gord Downie, posthumously.

My friend in Toronto got his picture with Alex the other day. Will have to ask him what they talked about.

I listened to the entire album a couple of times today and it's terrific. Like most Rheostatics projects, it's quite unique, cool, and interesting. A mix of instrumentals, spoken word pieces from various guests, and a couple of classic Rheos-style songs. I'm diggin' it. Martin's playing is definitely missed, but I really like the addition of Alex Lifeson on this record. And hearing Downie's voice from beyond the grave really hit me in the feels.

I don't know why The Cranberries MTV Unplugged is only being released now but I'm loving it.

Technically not new music, but I didn't know where else to put this.

Drive-By Truckers reunited with Jason Isbell last night on Colbert to celebrate the reissue of their kick-ass 2003 album Decoration Day.

Got tickets for Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman your in the spring, May in San Francisco. The only Canadian stop in Toronto unfortunately and will use any excuse to get to San Francisco again. Not much tickets left this morning. The Masonic is a great venue too.

That’ll be a great, great show.

Not exactly a Jimmy Buffet vibe to that pairing, but if drinking $30 pina coladas while it rains in the bar is your thing, might I suggest crossing the street and hitting the Tonga Room for a little pre-show drink? lol

I'm glad to see Suede get a spot though. I love their new record.
