He is apparently a very good defensive C, which is reflected in his high plus/minus- which leads me to believe that he potentially could make a nice 3C in the NHL someday, when he fills out.

Is it assumed he will stay in Russia for the next few years as he develops?

I don't believe he's been drafted by any Junior teams over here, so that seems to be the plan- he needs to develop quite a bit physically. When the Flames drafted him, they said at the time that they expected him to get time in the KHL as soon as this season, so hopefully he gets a call-up to one of the pro leagues in the near future.

What's with the goalie stats over there?
1.95 is 12th?
.929 is 17th?
That's crazy

Very low scoring league. Matveiko is 11th in scoring, with 26 points in 26 games.

I assume the larger ice surface results in a lot more low danger shots

I am actually really intrigued/ soft excited to keep following Matveiko. Really like the cut of his jib. Highlights are hard to find though.

Looking forward to seeing Zarubin come over this summer. If I understand it, he was working on his English this year.

Really sucks how many major injuries weve had with prospects, I was really excited for Stockselius this year. Have there been any updates on his cut(?) I see he will be missing the WJC this year still?

Wish I could answer, but I can never find injury reports- Cheese was the one who first broke the info that it was a skate cut keeping him out.
Got anything, Cheese?

From Google AI scouring Swedish News on him.
Injury Status: Stockselius sustained a skate cut injury in October 2025 while playing for Djurgården's U20 team.
Rehabilitation Progress: Djurgården's sporting director, Niklas Wikegård, told HockeyNews.se that Stockselius is rehabilitating and progressing "slowly but surely".
WJC Outlook: According to Wikegård and other Swedish reports, it is highly improbable that Stockselius will play in this year's WJC. However, given his young age (born July 2007), he may have another chance to represent Sweden in next year's tournament.
Club Team Status: There are doubts he will play any games for his club team, Djurgårdens IF, before the WJC begins.
