Respectfully disagree.

Defensively we're not...statistically the worst...but I think far from okay. And thats across the board.

Weegar has been woeful. Both he and Andersson have been trying to do too much but without Kuznetsov fitting like a glove these guys have often been a tire-fire in their own zone.

And its not just the defencemen either, did you SEE that giveaway by Huberdeau at the blueline the other day? He may as well have saved us all some time and effort and just smashed it into the net himself.

Well that's a silly post that didn't grasp the point at all.

Those are all fringe players that are mostly on the young or less inexperienced side. Or role players who are typically bumped in and out of line ups.

It's the "regulars" that had awful starts in october but didn't see the press box at any point who are being referred to.

Consider me in Warrener's corner in thinking no one should be exempt from the press box when called for.

That includes the likes of Weegar and Backlund when they were playing terrible earlier on.

How to nuke your team 101 - bench your dependable vets whenever they go through a short tough stretch of games.

They worked through their problems on the ice. It seems Huska was correct in his strategy there.

Not sure why it was silly to ask for examples.
And neither guy deserved to be scratched. Backlund was fine to start and if you take him out who plays those hard matchup minites?
And Weegar has just been trying to do much.
What team in the league scratches guys like that?

He was top in save percentage for a while as well. So clearly the rapid decline has already kicked in.

It's all kind of hilarious given how many of us wouldn't have put him on the roster after that preseason. I was rooting for the guy and pretty sad for him when it looked like he was cooked.

Healthy competition is important. It wouldn't mean much if Cooley was used sparingly but with the "win and you're in" approach, Wolf has to raise his compete level and can't be content with just going through the motions because the team in front of him isn't good. He has to earn regular starts.

I wish the same approach would apply to the rest of the roster equally, and not just to the younger players.
lol, Sutter was fired a couple years back
