Did Battaglia discover the puss or the beers? He’s not having a very good start.

This seems like a good start for Hunter doesn't it? 6th round pick that was looked at as a project? This is his D+2 season? Tell me how I should feel

I think a ppg or anything over is ideal for a player like him, although he’s still a long shot to make the NHL. A lot of big power-forwards seem to develop better in the pros when they find their roles, and size is still valued by coaches in their bottom-six. I wish Laing was a lot meaner and more physical though. For Laing, his goal production is the more important stat, as that’s what he leans into, and his 13 goals are tied for 22nd in the WHL. Just my opinion.

Really disappointing numbers from Battaglia. With the weakened competition level in the OHL he really had an opportunity to be a major offensive leader.

11 goals is fine, 6 assists is abnormal for a guy who had 34 and 50 in the last two years... hoping it's just a lack of talent around him

I think this is a reasonable view in some cases, but it does take some of the shine off the player here and reduces the likelihood that he can be an offensive driver at the next level. Now we kind of need to think of him as someone who hopefully develops good 2 way skills and could have mid lineup upside with good offensive instincts.

He plays for a poor team that doesn't score much, but it's not wrong to expect a little more production out of a D+2. True, his goals look ok- but he's still tied for 35th in that stat.

TBH - I completely anticipated this. IMO-- he should have been traded to a better team to continue his development or gone down some other past. Feels like a wasted season.

Who had Hunter Laing outscoring Battaglia this deep into the season? Certainly not I.

I wonder what the cross scouting was on Ilya Protas when they were looking at Jacob Battaglia (especially since they scouted Gridin in the USHL that year also). Because that mutant is a few months younger and already tearing up the AHL.

Kingston loses again, this time 4-2 to Flint. Battaglia gets 1a, and was +1. 27gp/11g/8a/19pts,-4, 26 PIM. The Fronts are 8/10 in the East, and 15/20 overall, with the 16th-ranked goals-for.

Hurtig picks up 1a, and was +1 in a 3-2 win over Prince Albert. He also got 2 for unsportsmanlike, and 5 for fighting. 22gp/2g/2a/4pts,+6, 11 PIM.

Draft-eligible RW JP Hurlbert still leads the WHL in scoring by 7 points, with 49 points in 28 games.
