LOL. Sorry i wasn't talking about you with the bitching and whining. It was Warrener with his 50 crying posts a day.

I think at some point soon, the Flames should probably address how well they are playing. Flames can't crawl out of the basement here.
If they finish 10th, then that's a shot in the foot. The value difference between moving up from 10th to 1st may be the difference of all the assets you get from Kadri + Andersson + Coleman. Even then, maybe it doesn't get done, depending on the ledges and the team with the pick.
However, I am sure this team takes a huge nosedive after the vets are traded-out. IIRC, it seemed to have happened a couple of seasons ago. Even if Rasmus wasn't the top defensive producer, and had a season like last year, this team would nosedive anyway.
Just enjoy the wins for now and don't worry about 'winning too much'. It looks like the Flames are going to be winning a lot based on the type of game that Huska has them playing. Everyone is dialed-in. I won't say that I am not a little worried in having the Flames vastly exceed expectations for a while and put themselves in a range that most wouldn't be happy with. However, I am completely not worried about the Flames not moving on from Andersson in an attempt to make playoffs. I don't think they will keep the band together, however.
My personal 'worry meter' is set at 2. I can enjoy every win guilt-free. Certainly helps with Nashville keeping pace lately too! I just don't see this team continuing to put up the points when Andersson gets traded. That alone will make them plummet.

Better to give valid criticism than to blindly accept every decision by a team who has won 2 playoff rounds in 2 decades. Some of us want the team to be better and want to see a cup one day, sorry to ruin your day.

What planet are you living on right now?
I want to Keep Andersson and Kadri. Who in their right minds wants to trade Weegar? He's one of the pieces you need to be a contender. So is Andersson and Kadri.
Why do you keep acting like we're all a bunch of lunatic anarchists that just want to blow up for nothing? Jesus christ, man. Get it together. We don't want 95 points. We want 115 points and trips to the finals and Stanley Cups.
I think it's time we turned the tables and start asking you why you don't want things to change. Why is that? How come you don't want a franchise player on the team? Any thoughts you want to offer on that? What exactly is it that you want? The only posts I see from you are ridiculing anyone who wants something different than what we already have. I don't see you posting much in the way of solutions. I get it though, it's way easier to attack other people's ideas than it is to formulate your own.
So there we go. Why don't you want a franchise player on the Calgary Flames?

Yes, if you up your whiny posts to 100 a day the Flames will log into CP and will blow games on purpose! hahahahahaha

Solution - do exactly what Conroy has done, trade vets exclusively for young prospects and picks. Accumulate draft capital. Don’t use picks and prospects to acquire any talent that can help the team unless that talent is also young and has a high probability to get you better picks and prospects in a future trade. Don’t sign any UFA’s to long term contracts.
Basically the solution is exactly what the Flames are already doing, no need to change course. But when they do continue to trade vets for picks and prospects this year (and if they trade all 3 that are likely to move) the malcontents will just have a new list of vets that need to be moved.

I'm on the same page as all of that, just with the addition of a McKenna, Stenberg or Lawrence. In a perfect world, I'd like to also keep Kadri and Andersson... but move Weegar or Raz to the left side to make room for (eventually) Parekh in the R2 spot (eventually swapping with Raz to R1 and R2 respectively, since I think Weegsy is more capable of shifting to the opposite side).
All things considered, we're a lot closer in our wishes than it seemed.

The Flames are 5-4-1 the last 10 games. I hope they climb a bit and start stringing some wins. But at the sametime, I want them to be in prime position for the McKenna Draft Pick.
I'm a bit flip-floppy when it comes to The Flames.

Its not so much 'flip-floppy' as it is...theres really nothing we can about it either way, we are literally just along for the ride and they're gonna do what they're gonna do.
Like I said before...we bought the ticket, we have to take the ride...wherever it may lead.

I didn't even pay for my ticket, so I can take the ride with serene indifference and watch whatever scenery goes by. I also get a certain amount of entertainment from watching those few other passengers who think that if they chirp loud enough, they will get to steer the bus.

Well you can't have both.
Either meaningless wins, or a real shot at McKenna.
Or banking on a lottery, but that's a fool's hope.
A lot more teams are joining them in that range that's within striking distance of 32nd. So we're looking at only 1-2 wins from jumping a whole group of teams and suddenly staring down a 6-10 ranked pick, which is a lot less exciting than that top tier.

I was referring to the 'metaphorical' ticket of being Flames fans, but I hear you. I'm not a STH so in Oilers parlance I'm probably a 3rd Tier fan. Its not like Conroy is calling me up asking me about who they should trade or draft.

The last place team likely picks 3rd...McKenna needs lottery luck no matter what
