Skinner is a UFA next summer.
I can't wait for him to sign elsewhere and turn his career around outside of that cesspool.
Won't be the first goalie to do it, won't be the last.

They can go get whoever the want.. even the best goalies in the world have bad years. Average goalies are just going to be crapshoot, you are just rolling the dice and hoping for the best on goalies 15-60 in the NHL.
Look at the best goalies:
Swayman - terrible last year
Helleybuck - has turned into a pumpkin in the playoffs the last 3 years
Shesterkin - below average last year
Vasilevskiy - bad in 23-24 and below 900 save percentage in playoffs the last 3 years
Guys like Jarry or Binnington - you probably a 33% they are good and 66% they are bad. They are Skinner without fans blaming them for ruining everything.

Did anybody catch Matheson's post-game interview with Skinner?
Absolutely brutal. Stu handled it with Jarome-level class when he didn't have to. Hope he gets away to greener pastures and does well.

If he just flat out asked him for his response to the criticism, that would probably be fine. But saying; "The fans don't want you here anymore, it must feel pretty bad, eh?" is just a horrible way to put it. Of course it would feel bad, that's not really a question worth asking. It's like asking someone in a fire, "So how does that fire feel, pretty hot eh?".

He handled it better than I would have. I would have responded "Honestly, I don't want to be here either playing in front of these awful ignorant fans".

Not sure what stat pack measures this, but the oiler organizational commitment to defense and the GaF are both at zero.

Geez its not out of the question or realm of possibility that the Flames will be ahead of the Oilers by Christmas.
God they stink, and with Rostlovic or whatever his name is gone for a long time, they're going to stink even more, like the fetid stench of a gopher run over on the highway and left to rot.

you know you are in trouble when some guy who didn't want to come to your team and signed only in desperation for 1 year for $1 million is now held up as being a major loss and fortunately the tenderness is coming to the rescue.

The Flames now have 2 more regulation wins than the Oilers and every team in the league has more than Edmonton's 5 RW.

And this is exactly why you have “Ryan Lombergs” as nuclear deterrents to this type of news. ,look out! the Oil have found their heart and soul with the Tenderness back in the line up! Things might get physical NHL! You’ve been warned.

If there's anyone that the Oilers should be trading that would have some value, that's under a not terrible contract but is aging but can still put up decent points in a secondary role its RNH.
I wouldn't be surprised if a team wouldn't over pay for him.
