Wiebo Ludwig's back in the news

The altercation happened on provincially owned property leased to an energy company and located northeast of Mr. Ludwig's land. Mr. Ludwig said the scuffle broke out shortly after he went to the property with his wife around 7:30 p.m. to "peacefully" talk to the workers.
Mr. Ludwig said the men falsely accused him and his sons of leaving nails on nearby roads and then started threatening him. Eventually, one man charged and hit him, he added.
Mr. Ludwig said that two of his sons, who were hiding in a nearby bush, then joined in the fight, and that the entire incident was audiotaped by his wife.

Apparently he was appraoching these oil workers for a 'peaceful conversation.' Hard to believe when two of his sons were hiding in the bushes and his wife had an audio recorder.

Yeah, she probably brought the tape recorder so she'd have evidence that he started the fight.

This guy is a crazy. I worked for an engineering company that did a lot of work on wells in the area. We had his property hilighted on most of our ERP maps.

All I'm saying is that this guy's wife having a tape recorder is hardly evidence that he was out there looking for a fight. I would say it's evidence to the contrary, actually.

I think it was a carfull of idiots . . . . one of them, a 16 year-old girl in the back seat, succumbing to the Darwin Principle.

While it could have been one of his freak litter, it did occur in his freaking yard . . . . . and was likely himself in my opinion.

Really, we're probably - careful to add the qualifier - talking about an unconvicted murderer.

Certainly, no one on that freaking property has manned up to say they did it . . . . and it is rather amazing he's still alive and functioning in that community after all this time. There's a lot of anger there. Still.

I think its rather apparent, given his prior actions, given him bringing along hidden witnesses and a hidden recording device, onto someone else's property apparently, that he went looking to provoke a confrontation.

Where I used to work there was this call a guy had on his voicemail that was just amazing.

This lady had phoned in choking and coughing that the comapny was gassing her. We are choking, cough cough cough, the oil well is leaking we are dying cough cough, please someone help. and you know sometimes when you hang up on voicemail it phones you back right away and keeps recording, well she answers HELLO! all chipper and seemingly fine. The problem was the well had not even been spudded yet, she just saw the truck pull up on lease and the potential dollar signs. It happens all the time.

He used to be on our call-down residents list a few years ago. He was always calling back giving our company **** about automated messages and then went into spiels about the oil industry and stuff. Weird, weird guy.
