surely the rest of them see that Rizzo or Savannah are winning this game if they don't take them out right? That cocky idol play might be good for a laugh but it should be a RED FLAG. Sophi needs to steal his idol and make a move if she wants an actual shot.

Sage's insistence it had to be Savannah sunk Jawan. It revealed them both to be playing both sides, which is usually a Survivor death sentence.

Next week's tribal has the potential to be the best of the season. Could be 3 vs 3, someone could flip, advantages/idols in play...........hopefully it's a great episode.
I don't have Steven in this pool, but I like him, seems like a good dude.

Agreed. Next weeks episode could be crazy. This season has been relatively good just because it's so up in the air and there has been plenty of blindsides. Refreshing, although I wish we would see another "villain".

Originally the female alternate for Season 48, Sophie Segreti came into Survivor 49 ready to make good on her second trip to Fiji. But, much like any good piece of fruit, it took a while for her game (and edit) to ripen. Sophie didn’t go to Tribal Council in the premerge, and continued that safety streak when she quickly established herself as one of the best challenge performers of the season.
Her suggestion of a safety vote on Jawan Pitts during the split Tribal Council kicked off a series of chaotic events, culminating in her targeting her Hina ally in MC Chukwujekwu. Her former tribemates were shocked to see her survive the night, something she took incredibly adversely. And so the YouTube strategist unsubscribed from her alliance, choosing to flip over to the motley trio of underdogs. Despite Sophie’s choice, she was still eager to play all sides, and thought she had the gears in motion to finally take down Savannah Louie. She had no idea, however, how in danger she was, between her challenge record, her resume and some rage-fueled vengeance from Sage Ahrens-Nichols. Sophie had indeed succeeded in bringing the numbers together. Unfortunately, they were all against her, as she was blindsided unanimously.
savardandjokinen takes his first hit and and jroc is voted off the CP Island.

I’m shocked that no one went out looking for an idol, knowing that Kristina wasted hers. I’m also curious if Sophie will now look to steal Rizzo‘s idol.

I wish they would have tried to keep Savannah and Rizo as all-stars for 50 as a secret. It seems obvious one of those two will win, likely Savannah given her backstory and the heavy female jury. Rizo has a set of stones for not even considering playing his idol. I think that needs to be the strategy going forward, to let everyone know you have the idol. After 46 I'm sure contestants learned it's better to not keep the idol hidden.
I felt the challenge for Steven was an interesting concept. It was a little too easy given how low the rope was at the end, but a nice change of pace. I'm shocked no one else would take the chance. Also did anyone else see the chatter that many contestants were forming alliances pre-season, beyond just the two that were removed? Apparently Jake, Alex, and both Sophie's were suspected of talking prior to hitting the island, but they removed the other two who wouldn't stop the chatter.

My goodness. Rizzo has to be the most ballsy players of all time in the 2nd half of this franchise's history.
I am in disbelief

Not sure what Sophie is smiling about she gets to spend a few more nights sleeping on rat beach with zero chance of winning. She could have made a game winning move but decided to make a fool of herself instead because of Tacos and friendship?
Its crazy to me these other players are so dumb they just hand over the win...ending has been predictable for a month or more.

Steven Ramm entered the game with a trepidatious liftoff. Despite his joviality, the mechanics of the rocket scientist’s of a personality contained a large amount of imposter syndrome, worry he was not cut out to do well. He began to prove himself wrong, however, in his first couple of Tribal Councils, as he banked on his relationships with the former Uli members to take control of the game at the merge. Unfortunately, gravity came in all too quickly, as his position was suspended in free fall, with some shocking flips and blindsides taking out some of his closest allies.
While Steven was feeling the heat, he luckily had a newly-found heat shield in his possession. Going on a “strenuous” journey, Steven’s arduous island orbit was rewarded with a coveted Block-a-Vote. With seemingly three votes on his side, he played it to bring the opposition down to only two. After Sophi Balerdi failed to use her “Knowledge is Power” advantage, Steven was as bright as the sun, assuming he had finally struck at the most dangerous trio in the game. But it turns out his game was about to go supernova for good, as he was too much of a gas giant for even his closest allies in the Survivor solar system.

Yup agreed, she was playing Rizzo / Savanna's game last night. Now she has no power and is probably the second weakest competitor for any challenges. She clearly has a strong social game but I don't know who she could beat in the finale.
This is the critical part of the game where you can't play it safe and just survive another week. If you have a shot you need to take it. Unless Savanna or Rizzo take a shot at each other next week I see Sophie or Sage going home next week. I feel like I see this all the time in Survivor and BB, players too afraid to make a big move...then they go home the next episode.

Remember, next week, the Survivor 49 finale is not 90 minutes. We're getting a full three-hour episode for the Survivor 49 finale, so plan accordingly

I don't understand how Steven was able to use his "block a vote" advantage earlier in the day. To me that seems unfair that this advantage can be used before tribal, yet other advantages must be played at tribal? That doesn't add up. It didn't make any difference in the end, but Soph looked like a fool and now has zero chance at winning. I can see why they targetted Steven, as he was a huge threat (and a skilled orator), yet letting Savannah and Rizo make it to the end makes it a two horse race. The other three really don't have a shot, unless they're the final three.
I wonder if Savannah and Rizo target each other in the final four as they must know one of them is going to win the million. Kristina is just not a good player, and that shows with how she handled Steven's questioning yesterday. She'll be in the final three for that alone. I hope she's held accountable, as she's done nothing this game and has coasted all this way for being a floater.

My gut tells me that Rizo would for sure take a shot at Savanna. She is a comp beast now and Rizo is spotty at best when it comes to the comps. He seems pretty focused on the end goal and hasn't wasted his idol on someone else. Savanna seems likely to take out Rizo as well, being on the bottom has given her a strong perspective on the game.
Kristina is a non-threat. She has zero on her resume and is awful at the challenges. It's telling that no one has said her name regarding a vote. No doubt everyone in the game would like to be sitting next to her in the finale.

They all have a little different timing depending on how the power affects the game. Block a vote had to be decided before tribal even began, Knowledge is Power is used during tribal but before the vote, the extra vote is used during voting and idols are used after the vote but before the reveal.
In this situation it basically nullified the KIP advantage - but also think of how playing the KIP to steal the idol BEFORE the vote would have a huge affect on the vote as opposed to after. Everyone would have known Rizo's idol was taken before voting, as opposed to if it had to be used after the vote.
I don't mind the different timings as they seem to have been designed to balance the powers of each.
