-Trade Coleman for a 1st
Now you have added THREE more firsts to the excess of picks we already have. Finish bottom 3 this year and draft an elite franchise gamechanger. Finish bottom 5 next year and draft another elite talent.
Now you are looking at Wolf as the goalie core, you are set in net.
On defense you have Parekh, Brzu, Kuznetsov, Mews, Morin all with potential. You have another younger player in Bahl locked up, and Weeegar is the vet locked in as 1st pairing D.
At forward you have Coronato, Reschny, Potter, Gridin, Battaglia, Honzek. Plus a game changer or two with the top 5 picks over the next couple of years. Huberdeau will be the vet leadership at forward.
Then you also have all these additional high picks that you hope you can hit on with a few players. I'm not saying all these players above will become staples in the NHL, but you hope that alot of them can along with some of the extra picks.
You could be looking at having a good team again within 3 years that could actually compete depending on if you are successful in drafting and developing the players. This isn't going to be a decade of rebuilding if you do this right.
