If you look at advanced stats over a multi game period and kind of forget about what happened in each game, a game like this can make you believe a team is playing much better than it is.
Flames dominate in every category tonight.

I am sure that it was a combination of Tampa letting off the gas, and the Flames pressing. However, that's still admirable and worth noting. Contrast that to Edmonton lately, right? Or teams (other than the Flames) that are at the bottom of the standings.
Flames are playing a very structured game with a lot of effort, even though this season is over. That's rather impressive to me. Maybe it is still a bit early in the season, but impressive nonetheless. They had every reason to simply go through the motions after going down 3-0 or 4-0, but they did the opposite instead, which was dig-in and fight. You have to really respect that.

One bounce own goal and one really bad goal by Cooley...2-0 was probably more fair for how the first period actually went.

I suspect the slow start was due at least in part to the big time zone change. Nobody was sharp, but everyone was dealing with a four hour time change. Your biologic clock can adjust 30-60 minutes per day, so the travel from Van was brutal (and a trip that is rarely made in the NHL). It was pretty much a scheduled loss before the game even started. The Flames should be sharper at the start of the next game.
Also, this game could have been totally different if Huberdeau had not been robbed at the start. It looks like a totally different game if it's 1-0 Flames vs. 1-0 TBL.
