The real fun is when you break your ribs and then contract a cold.
Every hack, cough and sneeze is an unmitigated nightmare of pure torture.
"Oh you want to blow your nose do you? Just try and stop as the blackness starts creeping into your vision."

So chatting to the wife as dinner being made. This helldog lays right in the middle of the kitchen where everyone is stepping as it always does. Sign of dominance my wife sees nothing wrong with. I walk over to squirt some Aveeno for the hands and it snaps and lunges at me and she has to restrain it. I think it was sleeping and I must have startled it awake. If she was not here that dog would be dead. He’s a monster when she is around for some reason. He’s never done this. It was scary.

How interested someone is in politics is no more an indication of what’s wrong with them then how interested they are in sports.
I’ve known people on both sides, people who are trapped in a cycle of consuming and disseminating depressing political topics who do seem miserable, and people who relish in the details and actually get joy out of it, and probably everyone in between.
Are political junkies miserable? Or is there just so much that one could be miserable about that miserable people are drawn to it?
To Slava’s point, where is the information being fed from? Social media much of the time, which a number of studies have shown makes people more miserable, as we sit here and discuss “other” miserable people on our social media platform lol.

I have had to seriously moderate my news/entertainment intake. I usually would get up and watch the Kimmeil/Meyers/Colbert monologues from the previous night and usually the daily show as well. I have since eliminated all of this from my intake and have been measurably less miserable. I will watch Jon's Monday night show occasionally because I really like him but that is about it. The anger and emotional rot I would feel hearing about all of the cruelty and stupidity has mostly disappeared. Other than Marlaina of course but I can do something about that.
I do still scroll tiktok and IG but my feeds are very innocuous. Mostly about home projects I am working on or comedy, so I don't get outraged. TwiXXer is a no go for me for a long time now.
It can be pretty scary the impact it has.

perhaps set off by the scent? My cat used to get pretty feral around certain scents like shaving cream

What kind of dog? That is NOT acceptable behaviour. My dogs have always known who the Alpha is, and I think that is very important. This was a rescure or something?

Yes blood reserve. When my wife is not around he’s mellow, but us together I am enemy #1. He starts destroying things when we just merely chat.
She went away for 4 days and just easy.

The dog is hyper protective of your wife. Yeah, this behavior is not good and potentially dangerous when you have visitors to your house. Dog needs a trainer who is well versed in reactive dogs
Personally, I wouldn’t let that dog anywhere near children

I would have dropped the people's elbow on that dog from the top of the countertop. Finish with a small package for the 3 count. He's your bitch.

Someone on here must do it, so tell me, what goes through your head when you come to the full resort lounge / entertainment pool, mid day and start doing geriatric laps of the pool? Maybe get out earlier and use it when it’s empty?

Have you considered fighting the Dog to show him who the Alpha is?
Take him down!

I totally agree. She loves it. I am on the couch and chat, he was laying there for two hours earlier. The second she comes in he starts clawing at the fridge ripping apart pillows. Big dog too. He’s not around kids thankfully and never off leash. She’s done extensive training with it. She just thinks I just don’t get him.
Previous dog never had anything like this.

about 5 weeks ago one of the guys on my hockey team got attacked by his dog. it was a rescue dog and had acted out before - but nothing like this.
his wife had a treat for the dog and the dog was being aggressive towards his wife (wanting the treat) so my buddy went to restrain the dog and it just snapped.
my buddy had to go to the hospital for 35 stitches to his hands and legs. they had to stitch his one hand back together where the dog had taken a chunk out of his palm.
you just never know when the dog might snap.
and yea... they put the dog down the next day.

I hear you. Broke my ribs, got the flu a week later and dealt with 36 hours of vomiting. I've never been so miserable and ruptured blood vessels in my right eye from the pressure of trying immobilize my chest and throw up at the same time.

Aw crap...yeah, that sounds awful. The ribs are the worst. Its just 'suck it up until they heal' while in the meantime every movement is hell.
