Norm!

The point That MacDavid and Draisaitl have played an absolute ton of minutes over the last 3 or 4 years is valid and has to be catching up to them. Neither have looked like their usual selves this season at all.
With Connor his biggest asset is his speed, if he loses a half or quarter step he becomes ordinary.
Also his I don't know media comments probably didn't endear him to his coach or his team.
I'm sure there might be some resentment over the wonder twins hogging the ice time and being crappy defensively.

Yeah I think people forget that Binnington is extremely high strung and a somewhat controversial figure.
A Mike Smith on steroids.

Oiler fans keep saying they are a couple wins out of first...have they looked at the games played though? They are on pace for 82 points.

Well, clearly all the other teams in the conference are just going to forfeit their games in hand, because the Oilers are so gosh-darned special!

The Draisaitl interview was very interesting. They asked him if it's just a matter of going on a run like last year soon.
And he basically said you can't just flip a switch and they need to start playing better now. Last year he had a very different tone, almost like he knows this is not the same team they had last year and are significantly worse.

Lol. Are the Oilers going to give up another 1st or good young player? The only skater they've drafted that's still on the Oilers, since McDavid, is Bouchard.

First thing that came to my mind as well.
Plus they dont have the cap space for Jarry and he has a 12-team NTC which I'd bet the Oilers are on.

I didn’t see last night’s scores until just now. Haha, wow. Oilers just absolutely imploding this season. Ya gotta love it.

8-3 is an improvement on 9-1. They've turned it around!

I don't want them to make the playoff, but I also don't want them to be anywhere near a top 12 pick either. The best case scenario is that they think they are close and trade their 2027 first and then proceed to miss the playoff.

How long can the Oil go before they force a trade for a goalie? If they can’t get a deal done does Knob lose his job?
Woodcroft couldn’t survive their 2023 start which was truly terrible.

The thing is, they have zero cap space to add a goalie of any consequence. They are either going to have to give up a player of equal cap hit or try to get some goalie currently out performing a steal of deal. It's going to cost them a lot either way. Their most expensive forward that doesn't have full movement protection is Mangiapane, but he has a full NTC. They could clear $3.5 million by putting him on waivers and hope there is a taker. After that, it's Roslovic who probably has value, but the savings are only $1.5 million and he has actually been one of their better players. On defense, they could move Ekholm or Kulak make cap room, but it's not exactly an area of strength to trade from.
The funny thing is that Skinner is probably playing better than he ever has at any point in his career. He's not great, but if he was on a different team right now, his stats and results would probably look a lot better and he'd be exactly what they would be interested in.
Not saying Skinner is great by any means. His glove and lateral movement are average on his best nights. I'm not even going to mention his rebound control. I am just not sure he is the biggest problem.

And sure; the difference is Binnington is actually good. But he’s not amazing or anything, and the dynamics aren’t going to be favourable to long cup runs.

Not to mention nausea and vomiting. You never see those two together. Infections can create fever, too.
