The announcers last night weren't wrong. Every goal against him was a grade A chance.
Another goalie may have made an extra save or two but still would have lost. I hope the Oilers spend their 2027 1st on a goalie that doesn't pan out. It's panic time in e-town and I'm here for it.

Me too. If they do trade their 2027 1st, then the 2026 1st they traded to SJ becomes unprotected. (As per Capwages. A weird trade condition.)

It's because the 2026 pick it top 12 protected. If the Oilers pick is top 12 in 2026, the traded pick becomes 2027, if the 2027 pick is already gone...... you get the idea.
This is why it is particularly fun listening to oilers fans wane on about getting a goalie. The 2027 1st round draft pick is the only valuable trade piece.
And if they manage to find a goalie, they still have holes on D and in the bottom 6.
It’s expected that a team that’s made playoff runs won’t have the best prospect pool, but the Oilers have close to nothing. Truly astoundingly bad drafting and asset management.
That 3-0 goal at 1:49 where two of the Oilers were having a beer at the bench while changing and while 3 Stars are entering the Defensive zone is peak Oiler effort.
4:14 is also a masterpiece
Surely, that wasn’t Monster Truck referring to Bouchard as “continuing his good November play” or whatever he said after Bouchard’s goal…(clip is kinda cut off…)
On the ice for four goals prior to that but hey—neat.
McDavid and Draisaitl are the two best player in the world, AINEC.
Bouchard is one of the greatest offensive talents on the blue-line in a generation.
Ekholm is one of the NHL's best defensive defencemen in probably a couple of generations.
Nurse - what's not to like? Big, mobile, and great in all 3 zones. Frightening to play against too, and keeps the opposition honest.
Knoblauch - well on his way to becoming the most successful coach in the NHL. Name another who has two straight SCF appearances! I predict that within a decade, people will stop using Scotty Bowman in arguments like "Even Bowman can't save this team", and replace it with Knoblauch.
If I really had to guess at what is going on in Edmonton - why this generational team is off to s slow start - I would have to say that it started in game 1. I think the Flames broke them.
You got me. I was all "The ####? You're on the wrong forum, #######!"

I did enjoy at the end of the game when Monster Truck guy was talking about the Oilers next game in Seattle and it being a good measuring stick game for the Kraken. Oilers are chasing the Kraken, and based on the last couple measuring stick games out west, the Oilers sure are not measuring up.
