Burned in Atlanta. Agreed.
Burned in Winnipeg? Debatable, I'd say no.
Burned in Denver? Absolutely not.
Burned in Ottawa? Debatable, I'd say no.
The team is a desired asset, with a new arena on the horizon and tied to a lease. Do you genuinely believe, the Flames would have trouble replacing Murray? (buying him out/finding new investors)

Ottawa LOL, let’s go on that timeline.

Now, this looks like confirmation bias. Your anecdotal experience, reinforcing your existing belief.
Like I mentioned earlier, there are techy billionaires who own franchises, of which they are the small minority, yet representative amongst owners as a whole.

Indeed, laughable and irrelevant really, and really the one that Gio likely cited as a reason why the NHL wouldn't want to move back "burned", was the most recent. There have been different Governors, and lifetimes between the others.
Does the NHL BoG, reflect back, and regret moving back to Winnipeg? Again quite doubtful.
Also, I forgot Minnesota, another success story.

Minnie worked out. So did Colorado. Maybe Winnipeg though I bet they lose money. How long between teams was that again for those cities? Not exactly a case for Calgary getting a team back instantly.
I can't believe you are counting Ottawa. May as well count Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and St Louis. But count the cities that have lost teams and not gotten them back. There's no Quebec team and they built a rink. No Oakland team.

Despite decline in ticket sales, the Winnipeg Jets have never lost money, True North says

Ottawa is indeed funny (& irrelevant), as I've stated once before. But let's not get sidetracked from your original point...

Minny, Denver, and of course Winnipeg. Contrast with Atlanta, that was rightfully moved.
Knowing that Ottawa with a lower median income, lower commercial/investor draw, and NOW knowing that Thomson/True North are profitable, I'd be befuddled to think, that the Flames with a brand new rink, couldn't at least find a conglomerate of investors to displace Murray.

Seravalli is a fiercely patriotic American, and often takes the sides of American players, coaches, etc. I expect Conroy being American plays a big part of it.

I said it didn’t seem like tech billionaires were buying teams. you say they are. I’m prepared to be wrong about it, so who?
I never said a team wouldn’t come back to Calgary - i said it’d be 10 years. Tell me how long Winnipeg, Colorado and Minnie went before getting a second team. I’ll wait.

And a guy like Conroy is objectively good for a team like Calgary. Youth focused GM with a positive if not loveable demeanour, sign this guy!

Won't gain you much positive discussion. Could end up with a ban.

Can do man, and like I said before, there is no positive discussion to be had with posters who don’t understand points = good. They aren’t capable of it so I’m not sure how you expect to get blood from a stone.
