Toss a metal spreader shovel in the trunk along with a toboggan. After the fun, go and find a few vehicles or two to help dig them out?

I'm gonna dig out the hot-tub and we're going to enjoy the snowfall tonight.

Enjoying a snowfall is completely foreign to me (I hate winter), so here goes nothin'.

Happy 'find the cracks in the concrete day' to all the snow shovelers!

Today is a great day to have a snow thrower.

A good steel spreader shovel in a trunk is a good winter habit. I've dug out plenty of people with it over the years. Many times also helping people whose little plastic or aluminum shove is too small or just ineffective against frozen snow banks, or shattering ice so that their tires can reach the asphalt for some traction.

My favourite first snows were always back in Canmore. From age 16 up, the first snow meant calling 2 close friends and we'd meet at the Sherwood House, sit in the front of the fire and drink pints. It was usually a mid week evening with no one else there, like being in our own wood cabin watching the snow build up outside, talk about ski plans for the winter.

That was back before they renovated and made it way less cozy.

Does anyone have one of those electric show shovels? I mean not really a shovel but basically a mini snow blower. My 2 car garage size driveway and side of the house don't feel big enough to warrant a full blown snow blower but looking at some reviews of the electric shovels they look pretty helpful.. the biggest part being maybe I could blow the snow out onto the street instead of piling it all up onto my front yard.

Remember kids, when they say 'no strenuous activity' after medical procedures, they're not kidding around. It looks like I murdered a small animal on my front lawn...just blood everywhere from shoveling this heavy, wet white BS!!

On the bright side, rather than those chinook overcast days we've had for weeks, now we get a couple of days of proper sunshine to follow that snow dump.

I've missed full on blue skies east to west.

I hope it melts that layer of ice before more snow comes down.

I do. Bought it years ago and used it a couple of times, now it just sits in the garage. Unless the one you are looking at is cordless I found it to be more of a PITA than it was worth.

The hell medical procedure would cause that? If blood existing any orifice should prob head to the hospital. Anywhere else, should also head to a hospital.

Its nothing to do with the procedure itself, but the blood-clot didn't hold while I was shoveling the heavy as hell snow, so the blood just ran down my arm and into the snow.

I got it under control later though.

Pile snow from their private driveway or walkway on their property (e.g. front lawn). Snow from a public sidewalk or pathway may be shoveled onto another public property, such as a road.

Not allowed for the driveway, but I believe sidewalk is fair game to shovel off the to the parking lane.

Edit: Yeah, what Mazrim said. There’s basically a PSA every year about where to shovel it, when it needs to be shoveled by, etc.

Thanks for that that does make sense, if everyone did it the street could become impassable with enough snow.

I guess even throwing it further onto my yard would be good.

Yeah I found one that has the same battery as the cordless mower I have, something like that corded would be terrible.. and found a few pretty cheap ones on Facebook so I'll probably give one of those a go, if it doesn't work then at least I didn't spend too much on it.
