If that makes sense.
But what if they don’t play the same team till next season and the suspended player switches teams? or if it’s an enforcer that rarely plays and they’re not even in the league by the time you play that team again?

Then you get one of their draft picks.

So is this over at this point, then? No additional games for the actual hit, just the auto 1 game for two ejections? Is the DOPS just using the auto suspension as a way to ignore what happened and not review and suspend based on the hit itself?

seems like an easy out for the league on a hit that should be given a serious look

There would have to be tweaks...next game vs. opponent if they play again the same year or next game. Seems fair to me.
Enforcers/bad players have been suspended before and never actually serve or serve as a healthy scratch they would likely be anyway...its not new.

Valid concerns. If the NHL ever wants me to elaborate on my idea I'll give it more thought.

Wait. This is a good thing. We want the Coilers to get the most delusional self confidence finishing at least at worst around 20th place. Why help them tank better than us? They're not winning squat with a back end like that.

Flames winning makes me me happy for our goalies and that's about it. Please let us keep losing competitively and consistently.

I want the greasepigs to continue the pattern of win one lose one, or win 2 lose 2. Barely missing the playoff and lose the draft lottery.

Still can't believe there was no suspension (or even a league review) for the hit.
