Default Christmas 2025

As the Christmas season is now upon us, what’s on your wish list for this season!!

We just moved to a new community. Closer to our kids and grandkids, I’m looking forward to having everyone together under one roof for the first time in years!

My main wish is to find meaningful work. I am not ready for retirement and am hoping that one of my many applications will hopefully bear fruit.

But on the more materialistic fronts, I’d love one of those 5’ electronic score boards to hang in my man cave.

What’s on your wish list??

Steve Martin: If I had one wish that I could wish this holiday season, it would be that all the children to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace. If I had two wishes I could make this holiday season, the first would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing in the spirit of harmony and peace. And the second would be for 30 million dollars a month to be given to me, tax-free in a Swiss bank account. You know, if I had three wishes I could make this holiday season, the first, of course, would be for all the children of the world to get together and sing, the second would be for the 30 million dollars every month to me, and the third would be for encompassing power over every living being in the entire universe. And if I had four wishes that I could make this holiday season, the first would be the crap about the kids definitely, the second would be for the 30 million, the third would be for all the power, and the fourth would be to set aside one month each year to have an extended 31-day orgasm, to be brought out slowly by Rosanna Arquette and that model Paulina-somebody, I can't think of her name. Of course my lovely wife can come too and she's behind me one hundred percent here, I guarantee it. Wait a minute, maybe the sex thing should be the first wish, so if I made that the first wish, because it could all go boom tomorrow, then what do you got, y'know? No, no, the kids, the kids singing would be great, that would be nice. But wait a minute, who am I kidding? They're not going to be able to get all those kids together. I mean, the logistics of the thing is impossible, more trouble than it's worth! So -- we reorganize! Here we go. First, the sex thing. We go with that. Second, the money. No, we got with the power second, then the money. And then the kids. Oh wait, oh jeez, I forgot about revenge against my enemies! Okay, I need revenge against all my enemies, they should die like pigs in hell! That would be my fourth wish. And, of course, my fifth wish would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace. Thank you everybody and Merry Christmas.

Going away (aka escaping) for Christmas. Wife says since that's our Christmas no need to put up decorations. Highly unlike her, but Christmas' the last ~10+ years seems to have gotten more stressful each year. On one hand it's a stress relief not to decorate, on the other hand it's bucking tradition which feels weird. Since I generally find Christmas stressful... this should help. Many people find Christmas extremely stressful so go easy on those who aren't enamoured with it.

I'm hoping my brother makes the drive from Northern Minnesota to High River to spend Christmas here this year. Share a few holiday cheers and some steaks on the BBQ.

Also, don't drink while wrapping presents. If anyone gets a remote I want it back please.

Family! I don't care about gifts, its sitting around a dinner table with the kids, nieces, nephews and friends and laughing our asses off at mundane jokes and life in general.

I love Christmas time. Christmas parties, weeks off work, snow. Not much to hate.

I'm the same about gifts. Got tired of trying to buy gifts for people that have everything. Christmas for me is about getting together with family and friends.

I used to love Christmas but both parents croaked and bro lives on the other side of the globe so have no family here other than immediate. Don't know where my older kid will sleep when he comes back from University and some new kid is in his room.

Will be in hockey arenas for Macs and have my one year anniversary echocardio on the 23rd that I am quite nervous about. Hopefully the new valves are holding. Could be an awful Xmas if I get bad news. Last Christmas was spent in the hospital for a week so Xmas has changed to anxiety ridden.

Both of my parents have passed on and the rest of my family lives in the States. When my brother doesn't come, it's getting together with friends for a Christmas dinner and celebration. You do what you have to do.

Hopefully the echo cardio gives you something positive as a Christmas present.

I know the joke is always world peace... but World peace... ?

Like... an opportunity to relax without some powder keg of stress, anxiety, worry etc. just peaceful acceptance. I don't want to feel the angst of an untuned carburetor when observing the people around me attempting to sit still/get through the holidays.

I seriously would throw so much money at the opportunity for a deep and peaceful rest where I can just IDGAF the worries of the world.

Who is Jesus Murphy? My sister keeps saying his name.

A phrase uttered by Canadians who stub their toes. By replacing "Christ" with "Murphy," these Canadians manage to avoid hell. [urban dictionary]

Jesus Christ, it's that easy to avoid hell? Swap the Christ for Murphy? This cult has some really soft rules.

I bought my girlfriend a puppy! I have a dog, who she loves like it was her own child. But she has never owned a puppy. It will be the best day of her life when she get it.
