I don't think Tij is going to be an elite player in the NHL. Looks more like a to 6 talent to me.

All I can get

You can never have too many defensemen. Defence wins championships.

I thought it was the middle and defense.
Defense alone does not win championships, especially in the modern nhl where 6-5 games are more commonplace than ever.

Interesting. Why would you value a second right shot Dman over a dynamic forward? Maybe not a McKenna fan?
2 years in a row we are among the lowest scoring teams. I would assume we want a forward especially considering Mews is another solid RHD prospect we have

Comparing 24 and 26 prospects. This board really wanted Tij a couple years ago and his development has been kinda meh. McKenna also facing a little adversity.
I still go McKenna/Parekh myself but it would have been AINEC a couple months ago but it is getting a little bit closer

Tij looks like hes been tearing it up as much as ever. He had that injury that caused him to miss most of last season.
He is being a little over cooked in juniors though.
Cant really know what he is until he plays at the next level.

defense score points these days too though
I would argue Makar is the best player in the NHL when it comes to W's and L's

Jesus , he had hip surgery and missed almost a year.
All he's done is come back and lead his team in scoring with 11g and 21 pts in just 12 games playing as a center which I predicted.
Did I mention he just turned 19 three months ago!

I'm in the start in net and build out camp IF there is no obvious center to take at the top. (Or say you pick second etc etc.)
Parekh
Weegar
Verhoeff
On the right side is a pretty damn good looking start on that side. If Mews forces the situation then Weegar can always play the left side.

Would totally be a flames thing to do and draft a D and not the hyped forward if when we get the first pick only to have it be another franchise blunder.

It could go either way...I know a couple teams that wish they took Makar

I think we’ll be happy with either, and Stenberg for that matter

I am fully McKenna or Stenberg. I don’t want another D. I’m sure he will be great but all three are studs, and we need forward talent.

Draft Pick
|
As someone who don't watch prospects nearly enough to have an informed opinion on which one of them should go 1st overall, I'm just pumped hearing that there's (at least) 3 really exciting prospects at the top of the draft.
Assuming we stay at the bottom of the standings we'll get a phenomenal piece to build around no matter how the lottery shakes out.

Yup. I said the same thing. He's not just playing as a center, he's the team's #1C taking most of the draws and especially the important ones.

I would, in his draft year he was typically the best player on the ice including at the WJ's.

What are you talking about? He was a top-10 prospect in a very deep first round, and was widely regarded as having the best shot in the entire draft (I think it was between him and Eiserman, depending on which site you were on).
