What a game! Lots of quality chances by the Flames, but DeSmith was really good. No, not 'volume shots' making the goalie look good, but rather some very good chances.
Tough luck late in the third with the Weegar accidental clear (not his fault), and the Beecher trip (argument to be made for an embellishment there - not since Kesler have a seen a tumbleweed like that!). Flames hung on for the tie.
OT I thought they were good - Huberdeau specifically with a glorious chance that almost squeaked-in the 5-hole.
Frost has a great move, and Kadri.. wow. That's some swagger, right?
Cooley was great all night. I don't even fault hiim for those goals against - Robertson can really shoot, and he wasn't quite set on the 2nd goal either. Did well in the shootout.
Well deserved win.
First star of the game: Coronato's Nose!
Second star of the game: Huberdeau's fist!
Third star of the game: Glen Gulutzan - he couldn't win here often as the Flames' head coach, and so it isn't surprising he didn't win here tonight as Dallas' head coach either.

To me he’s been no question the best player on our team in the post Gaudreau era….but we need to trade him. We will actually get value for him, $7M cap hit for someone that talented will fetch you decent value in a trade.

I said this after the Rantanen hit on Romanov. Guy has been involved in a lot of ‘accidental’ hits injuring guys. Headshot on Stu skinner last year, tangled up with Zary last year causing a knee injury, Romanov earlier this week. Now coronato, which has been the most egregious one yet. He is a dirty player.
Missed most of the game but just saw the hit and response. Good on you Huberdeau. Of course Rantanen acts like he did nothing wrong and acts like a big p*ssy when the gloves come off.
