Premier Smith asked if there will be changes to recall act. Says threshold won't change, but raises issues on how MLAs can defend themselves, fears that go fund me campaigns are being funded by foreign actors and that the AFL is bussing people into ridings to help campaigns.

The DynaLife fiasco turned into a whodunit this week when Premier Danielle Smith told the legislature, referring to the DynaLife report: “I think the most serious allegations were levelled against AHS, when the new CEO destroyed the notes of the outgoing CEO, Mauro Chies.
In a rare statement for publication, Mentzelopoulos states: “Smith said: ‘The new CEO destroyed the notes of the outgoing CEO, Mauro Chies.

'While she didn’t name me, I was the new CEO.

“There is nothing in the auditor general’s report that suggests I did any such thing.

“And, in fact, I did no such thing.

“I would note that the report didn’t even say it was AHS who destroyed them, only that they had ‘been destroyed.’ ”

Mentzelopoulos adds that she did exactly the opposite, by arguing for full release of all DynaLife-related documents to the auditor general.

“As CEO, I proposed to the then-AHS board that we waive privilege and provide all documents the auditor general requested for their DynaLife audit.

“Board members agreed, but we were overruled.”

Only the government had the power to do that.

The announcement from the AUPE starts with "AHS blinks!", so they're at least pitching it as a win to their members. Details haven't been released yet. There was supposed to be a press conference at 11, but I haven't seen any reporting on it yet.

Unfortunately this only goes through the Kenney years. We forgot how crazy and damaging the UCP were, from the outset, but compared to Smith, this all looks a little quaint.

If anyone finds a spreadsheet for the Smith years, please post it.

The general gist of the article seems to be that if AI does make a mistake they would not know how to correct it. They have doubts about even recognizing a mistake - that would require some intelligent person being able to proofread the law.
