Good bounce back game.
Sabres are proof that tanking and 1st overall=Stanley Cup win.

Perfect win within a rough season in a rebuild/retool.
Big nights from several who are raising their value in trade.

All I wanted.
Good effort, team game, in it to win it and they won it.
Trust me, we're going to lose a whole bunch more games. Take the wins when you can get them.

Flames blowing out a team?
The whole team looked good tonight. Andersson's alleyoop pass was a thing of beauty! That alone was worth another 3rd round pick's worth of value right there!
This is why I disagree with the whole "Huska sucks" thing. Flames are usually prepared in games, they compete. They may get beat, but boy do those Sabres seem disinterested in actually competing.
The only outlier tonight for me was Sharangovich. Didn't want to take a hit, so he threw the puck away right to a Sabre, and it cost the Flames a goal. That's the mentality that simply has to change.
Andersson was really good tonight. That was a nice pass by Huberdeau to Frost. Farabee is finding some puck-luck finally, and it is great to see a hard-worker who does all the little things right finally start to see some reward. He is a mini-Coleman, really.
On to the next!

I think that's in the process of changing. Sharangovich was buzzing around the net on the first two goals, getting into traffic. On the blind giveaway, I think he misread the play and lost his head.
Baby steps.

By the way, it is well worth –2 McKenna points to have the sweet, sweet sight of this collection of sad sacks walloping the collection of sad sacks who just walloped the sad-sack No Goods.
How's them apples for you, Edmonton? We just took out the trash that took out your trash!

Was it not Kuznetsov who threw the puck away on the Samuelsson goal?

Could be, I'd have to look again. It was a pretty crowded corner and I didn't get a good look at who had possession.
EDIT: By gum, it was Kuznetzov. The puck kind of went right through Sharangovich, but he never actually had it. Lets him off that particular hook.

I think Farabee will be a really nice piece for the Flames to flip in a couple years. Very solid player.

Yeah some positives tonight for sure.
First win for Cooley.
Bit more spark from both Sharangovich and Zary.
Farabee gets rewarded.
And TBH they needed that win because these next 5 are not fun.

Nice night for Frost and Farabee both.
At the moment, the trade tree has the Flames with Frost and Farabee, the Flyers with Shane Vansaghi, a 2027 3rd, and a 2028 7th.

I wonder how much time Pelletier gets in Tampa this year. He has only 1 GP and no points, but he leads the AHL Syracuse Crunch with 14GP 5G 10A 15PTS.
Still rooting for him to succeed, especially with him being out east.
