Confused about the claim to be honest. The 4th line center spot is not a big area of need, nor is more middling defensive tweener forwards.

Certainly doesn't bode well for Kirkland.

Must be something of a confidence issue in whatever they have at the 3 and 4 center spot. Because creating a log jam for 2 NHL spots isn't really productive.
Then again this season should be all about spelunking for fits in the on ice chemistry department.
If I were to metaphorize the 2025/26 flames roster I'd say it's a bunched up into a ball table cloth. Nothing is ironed out . There's maybe 1 or 2 decent fits in the entire roster and one of them is Coleman/Backlund and you could debate the other fit.

RFA at the end of the season.
If it doesn't click, you can move on.

Honestly for as much of a non move this is, I’m just so excited to be reading about a transaction involving the flames! Whoohooo

Or any other center on the farm. Like newly called up Morton.

Good move. Keep the youngsters down for a successful AHL season while the team tanks. Makes sense to me.

According to Francis, he can also play LW. Might also be a replacement for Lomberg if they decide to move him

Wolf must've sold him to Conroy, Conroy would have asked around and got the approval of other guys.
I don't see this being something that can be taken lightly.
We need possession of the damn puck badly . If he's winning at a 53 percent clip and can play a 200 ft game why not .
Scouting says he likes getting in the way of the goalie as a hard to move screen. F do we need that.
Well see how it goes I guess

Tomasino is on waivers today, I think he would be a much better pickup.
