I am looking forward to the point in the season where they really start to shift to rebuild mode and get rid of some vets and call up the younger guys we want to get a look at. I want to get Brzustewicz, Gridin, Stromgren, Suniev and those types up for a look. That is going to be when this season gets exciting for me as a fan. When we start collecting assets and seeing what we have in the pipeline.
These call ups are nothing to get upset about but certainly nothing to get excited about either.

High danger chances with Kerins on the ice were 10 to 1 through two games. Or do these stats not matter unless it fits your narrative.

Kerins was great, please stop.

Based on what? You make extreme statements all the time: 'they only win because of Wolf', 'all the vets are garbage', 'Huska is the worst coach', etc.
Instead of silly posts like that, how about trying to put two thoughts together and posting something that might add to the conversation?
You can start by explaining how Kerins was great - what did you see that you would like to share? (other than his birth certificate)

I thought you hated advanced stats?
What is my narrative? I don't think I've stated an opinion on Kerins have i?

As mentioned multiple times, the Flames dominated the Sharks, and the stats were great across the board. And that stat is for all 5 guys on the ice - did Kerins generate any of them? Most of them? None of them?

It's not a bad thing. It's good to get a sense of where guys are at. Allows conroy some flexibility in trade negotiations if they need to replace internally or take back guys who are going to get spots from the called up players.

I think that works well (assuming Yegor finds some semblance of his previous self)
Huberdeau-Frost-Coronato
Zary-Kadri-Sharangovich
Farabee-Backlund-Coleman
Lomberg-Morton-Klapka
- Hunt

That makes sense to me. Give Zary and Shark a chance to get going.

Over the last 2 games among our forwards:
78.3% xGF ranked 3rd on the team
The 10 HD chances for with him on the ice ranked 2nd
24 Scoring chances for ranked 2nd
0.83 individual xGF ranked 1st (higher than Zary has put up in his last 11 games)
4 individual HDCF ranked 1st
3 rebounds created ranked 1st
3 shots blocked ranked 1st
So somebody tell me why we are sending that guy down again?

I just get the feeling that the organization doesn't view Kerins as a building block player that's going to be part of the future. I don't love Hunt replacing him but the organization sees all these players play much more than I do so I'm having faith that they know what they are doing. All I care about right now is a top 3 pick so if Hunt helps the team get there, then so be it.

Mean Murray Edwards will do whatever it takes to deprive Kerins of his Calder Trophy bonus.
Seriously though, rotating the kids up and down for auditions is probably the right move before moving veterans.

I don't think Hunt is replacing him. I think Zary or Yegor is, and then Morton slides into the 4th line.

He's too good and he might hurt the tank. Honestly, that might be why.
We need Sharangovich back in Pronto.

I appreciate the response with real information.
I didn't watch the SJ game at all. I thought in the Chicago game he had some good moments but overall was just OK.
I would not have been opposed to him getting a longer look, but I also didn't think he really forced that. And if the plan is to elevate Zary to try and get him going - I think that's also prudent. Zary is way more important to the future than Kerins.
So I see both sides.

Man, if only our young players got as much rope from the coaching staff as the coaching staff seems to get from this fan base.

Clearly there are fans that constantly criticize the coaching staff.
Are you choosing to ignore that? If so - why?

yeah, the line was dominant - it didn't look to me that that was because of Kerins though.
he was fine, but I don't recall a single shift where I thought Kerins was great.

We're dead last, makes sense there'd be some critiques. There's also plenty of fans and media in this city ready to give Huska and Co the benefit of the doubt any time a kid gets sat or bounced around the lineup.
Kerins didn't play against Chicago by the way.

So the line as a whole looked great, the stats show that Kerins individually had really good stats on that line (including defensively with 3 shot blocks) and yet we still are sending him down.
There was no good justification for sending him down, there just isn't.
