Laing gets 1g, and was +1 in a 6-5 win over Red Deer. 20gp/12g/9a/21pts, even, 6 PIM. One my personal favorites for the upcoming draft, C Cooper Williams, was named first star for the Blades- with 2g and 1a.

5 assists in 20 games for Battaglia in his D+2 year is pretty brutal, hopefully things pick up for him.

Kingston is not a very good team, and one of the lowest scoring teams in the OHL

Battaglia is still NCAA eligible right? I wonder if that is the play for him next year assuming the AHL may be too much of a jump. I was hopeful he was going to come out of the gates hot and be considered for the WJC this year. Got to he opposite unfortunately.

Battaglia signed an ELC with the Flames. Not eligible for NCAA anymore

Did he lose some linemates that's making him pick up the slack a bit more?

Of Kingston's top-16 scorers from 2024-25, only 4 still remain on the team this year: Battaglia, C Tyler Hopkins, D Maleek McGowan, and D Vann Williamson.

Some very important players have departed for greener pastures, such as C Tuomas Uronen (90-points last season), LW Cedrick Guindon (85 points), D Emil Pieniniemi (60 points), LW Ethan Miedema (57 points, power-forward), and D Quinton Burns (49 points).

Replacing them, among others, are C Kieren Dervin (now their leading scorer), C Tomas Pobezal (Slovakian star), and the Kuzma brothers (Andrew and Robin- Andrew didn't play hockey last season).

This sounds like the start of a really good Disney hockey movie

He played a lot with Uronen last year, who sadly is a stud that Vegas got in the 6th round and has 9 points in 11 games in the AHL this year. Kingston does not have much on that team this year but the lack of goals is a little perplexing. Hoping he gets traded in the next month to a good team in the OHL.

Battaglia did get an assist tonight (not to steal from your great updates at the end of each night) but they are a pretty bad team, doubt his counting stats get much better unless he is moved.

Emil Pieniniemi was one of the best puck-moving, two-way offensive D in the league last year too. Losing him has to hurt big time.

Nov.21st:

Battaglia gets 1a, and was +1 in a 3-2 OT loss to the Petes. 21gp/10g/6a/16pts, even, 16 PIM. The Fronts are 6th in the East (out of 10), and 13th-overall (20 teams), with the 15th-most goals-for.

Laing picks up 1a, and was even, in a 3-2 win over the Broncos. 21gp/12g/11a/23pts, even, 6 PIM. The Blades are 3rd in the East (out of 11), and 5th-overall (out of 23), with the 11th-best goals-for.

The Hitmen are 5th on the East, and tied for 8th-overall, with the 19th-best goals-for.

Hopefully Battaglia gets traded to a contender and goes on a tear. Disheartening to see a high end 2nd round pick who already has an ELC go backwards that much. I would have expected him to have 35+ points at this point in the season and he has less than half of that.

Doesn't matter. I can go through some of the worst teams in the CHL and find lots of 19 year old players putting up big numbers on those teams.

A 19 year old with a point regression like that is a massive red flag. He's not even leading his team in scoring.

He had a higher points per game two seasons ago when he 17.

Monahan instantly comes to mind. He had a fantastic year on a garbage 67s team in his draft year
