Smith talking about measles 'weve tried nearly nothing and it didnt work'
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...fman-9.6980006
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says Canada recently losing its measles elimination status is concerning, but her government might not have many other options on the table to help get it back.
Smith, at an unrelated news conference in Calgary, said the highly contagious disease is hard to control, especially since people can travel freely from province to province or to Alberta from around the world.
"I think it's up to everybody to be vigilant in trying to make sure that this disease doesn't spread," Smith said Friday.

Hahaha seriously she's such a piece of #### human. YOU caused this you absolute donkey. How about you and your goverment take responsibility for creating this environment in Alberta.
This is what happens when you ride or die with your political party, like a sports team. When you have the attitude that my political party can do no harm because your party is doing this, and this, and this. It actually affects people, causes harms, and results in serious adverse health outcomes, education outcomes, etc.
But hey, you keep posting your gotchas and rah rah rah your team.

Of course there’s always undertones of blaming immigrants. Immigration doesn’t explain why Alberta is over 2x more measly than the next most measly province…dumb ####

Ya? What does "not supporting the UCP look like to you"? Is it where you defend all their policies, actions, and people, but vote for a 3rd party who has no chance of winning your riding, helping the UCP to take it?

It’s not immigrants but Mennonites lol …. probably including the ones in cabinet
Edit: Although technically Mexican Mennonites are immigrants, although some of them likely had Canadian citizenship before leaving Mexico

Don't forget the UCP's greatest dunderheaded decision in this province's economic history - $1.4B on a pipeline to nowhere, that just POOF! Magically disappeared; just like that. They mentioned it in passing once and then never mentioned it again. A ten-digit number - TEN - that they just gave away.
But remember, it was more important to reduce AISH payments, attack teachers, and marginalize the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. No money (or respect) available for those groups, of course. And own the libs. Are we winning yet?

Are you kidding? We’re winning on several fronts:
- number 1 for measles cases
- number 1 for insurance price increase
- number 1 for lowest spending per student in public education
- number 1 for highest spending per student in private education
Next question please.

If they feel they can win a majority (they always get the rural vote) they can short circuit the recall stuff and get a new mandate.
They are somehow ahead in the polls:

https://canadianpolling.ca/AB-2023
NDP volunteers are contacting supporters to get ready.

I guess I just can’t believe it. I would say that this is the worst government we’ve had in provincial history, from almost every single aspect.

They have a big base that will vote for them no matter what happens.
This is why they are so arrogant. They feel invincible.
They may also want to act before Progressives splinter off.

This is such an indictment on the stupidity of an sufferable amount of conservative Albertans. The UCP could #### on their heads, fart in their sleeping bags and tax their salaries at 99% and they'd still bend the knee / kiss the ring because... chest thump / 'Berta / blue good, orange bad. These people are masochists.

Are Conservative Primiers incapable of finishing their terms? Last one was Klein IIRC. They're just so horrible.
