What are the odds that the party dumps him? They couldn't possibly be that naive to think they could win the next election with this petulant loser at the helm again?

It would be such a great icing on the cake if the party dumps him lol.

I really don't think that they have much choice. He's got to go.

Which is why they'll keep him. Reality is no longer a feature of the Conservative movement.

Pollievre has been safe, despite not being able to win, because he keeps following the playbook given to him despite the fact it's a recipe for second place.

Don't underestimate the power of right wing propaganda campaigns. PP doesn't need to capture a new base with changed rhetoric, he just needs to subtley shift the minds of the populace through brainwashing on Tiktok, Facebook, water cooler conversation, etc by tossing out divisive ideas that trigger peoples' fear and anger instincts while being fronts for corporate profit stacking.

You already saw him expand his base on a non-issue like the "carbon tax" that was actually successfully doing its job and even Carney himself said that removing it was only a reaction to popularity, not policy effectiveness.

We see his base slowly growing to resent indo-Canadians with misinformation tossed around like "The indian immigrants are defacating all over our beaches". But that sentiment is permeating the greater populace and racism is rising.

PP is standing pat because the CPC believe the real battle for Canada is not won with debates and policy and decorum, but by brainwashing the average person. It's increased their seat count already. They just have to continue to be the party of made up problems and veiled racism, and get a few more voters frustrated with their lack of Tinder matches to suddenly blame the LPC & NDP for everything. If they win even one election they can proceed to go full fascist and tear up our institutional integrity.

Add in the fact that four years from now you might not have a Trump in the USA to remind Canadians that fascism is alive, and the progressive vote turnout might be reduced due to apathy. Add in that the people old enough to remember fascism from the 1940s may not be alive at all in four years. While kids thinking tik tok memes about "Blue Haired SJW Libs" are funny will be old enough to vote in a country where the Danielle Smiths and Doug Fords are deconstructing the education required to critically view this sort of content.

the USA should be proof that it can happen, and yet not the only proof. The IDU are globally advancing their push to #### up the world.

We cannot stay arrogantly confident that it's a recipe for second place.

Carney recommends 7 major projects for approval, including new mines, LNG and hydro development

Quote:
PM says projects getting the green light will help Canada become an energy superpower
Quote:
Here are the six projects and one concept being referred to the MPO:

The Sisson Mine, for critical minerals, in New Brunswick.
The Crawford Nickel project in Ontario.
The Ksi Lisims liquefied natural gas project in British Columbia.
An Iqaluit hydro project.
The Nouveau Monde Graphite Phase 2 project in Quebec.
The Northwest Critical Conservation Corridor in northwest B.C. and Yukon., which is more of a concept than a project and could include critical minerals and clean power transmission developments in the area.
The North Coast Transmission Line in northwest B.C.
How long until Danielle cries about AB not being on the list?

It's a list of projects, so until there is a project, it's hard to put on a list. Which won't stop her from tossing the table again, but hey. Facts.

In fairness, the northwest corridor one isn't really a project, so having an actual project plan/proponent doesn't seem to be a requirement.

PP is a soundbite politician. The vast majority of his fans see the tweets/tiktoks/youtube shorts of him speaking with "Pierre ABSOLUTELY OWNS THE LIBS"

he is the perfect politician for this day and age. no nuance, just straight BS.

The fact that he is a dick is a feature.

Well, he's the perfect politician, unless you care about that whole "winning elections" thing.

he is perfect. His base adores him because he is a deplorable piece of kyit.

The Libs love him because he is a deplorable piece of kyit that will never win an election. 12 more years! 12 more years!

That depends on where things are headed.
That worked in the US and it still could work in Canada at some point.
I'm still not convinced Canadians are too smart for that playbook, but maybe I just know too many morons.

The BC band that's laid claim to Richmond is back in the news for a crazy dump they've been building and ignoring for the last decade or so. BC government recently gave up on the criminal charges for some unknown reason but of course the crazy pile of trash remains.

Apparently, the band now wants money and the federal government to clean up the mess.

Good luck Richmond, so long and thanks for all the fish.

What do you think is going to happen? A giant garbage dump is going to appear in Richmond?

The judge who gave the verdict to the band should have to camp there for a week.
