Kind of crazy that the Flames are having one of the worst seasons and still only 6 points back of the Oilers. That is all sorts of no good from the Oilers. I know the media and fan base think they will just flick a switch, but part of me thinks this time it will be different.

I think the oilers will pick it up a bit, but it is the best case scenario, E=NG wise, as they should finish just outside the playoffs, lose the pick, summer of turmoil.

I hope they do pick it up, but just enough to keep lottery odds low and playoffs questionable. That's most ideal.

This is where their lack of drafting/developing/asset management is really coming to bite them in the rear ends. Lets be honest, even at 90 percent of their peak, they are still world class players. They just haven't backfilled their decline enough with the rest of the roster.
The Oilers two young hotshot prospects aren't doing much. I think there were really banking on at least one of these two to breakout this year.
Isaac Howard. 3 points in 15 games.
Matthew Savoie. 2 points in 16 games.
The Oilers are what they are. They'll get into the playoffs, but they are in the decline era of their contender run.

I found it interesting when I heard the Oilers draw the least amount of PIMs per 60. However I'd be curious if there was a way to keep track of who draws the most PIMs when trailing in the 3rd.

It would be hilarious if they did fire him. That would be 3 coaches in under 6 years.
It would be impossible to find a experienced coach to spin the wheel on an dressing room that looks like it kills coaches like Darth Vader kills Imperial Officers.
