There was a period of time where there was an insane number of “guests” in the Ukraine Russia war thread. I think someone said they were bots. There are certainly a lot of bots as guests.

Question;
I have a decent sum of US Funds from a US buyer in my PayPal. I just added a US Chequing savings acct to my RBC account. To best mitigate any Fx fees.
Paypal isn't letting me move the funds?
Is it because the account is new? (opened yesterday), or do I need an actual US domiciled RBC account?
TIA

Obligatory:
Yes. You will never be able to transfer the funds. What you need to do is send an email transfer to me at Massiveballs&schlong456787654567654456@gmail.com. What I will then do is buy Bitcoin and then transfer it back to you. Simple really. I only charge a very nominal fee for the convenience.

Ya know, you could’ve saved the time from posting, and leaving me guessing into whether you’re funny or not.

I think it was mentioned in another thread that it was a 'self-imposed break.'
Whatever that means is between him and the mods I guess.

Do you want US funds? You could see if you’ll get dinged any foreign transaction fees by transferring a small amount to your regular RBC account. I have deposited US funds into a CIBC chequing account and didn’t see any fees.

Was your CIBC chequing account, in US currency?

I'll clarify, I too have done that. This is a larger sum, tho. Thus, if I convert transfer AND convert, I get bent by Paypals fx conversion rate.
Vs move the funds to my US chequing account (RBC Canadian based), 1:1
But it didn't work yesterday, nor today. Hopefully it works tomorrow... (or do I require a RBC US funds account domiciled in the USA?)

His user title is simply "Self Imposed Retirement". Which is probably for the best since he was clearly washed in this comeback. All the best in retirement peter.

So we are getting a dog walker because my wife is going to a hockey tourney, but our dog is a handful, so she is testing out some service where they meet the dog a few times prior (fata me).
They give you a review of the dog interview after and apparently my dog just tries to fata her the whole time. Pretty proud doggo dad here.

Basically you're out of luck. Paypal won't allow you to transfer money from a Canadian domiciled paypal account to a USD bank account, whether it is domiciled in Canada or the US it doesn't matter. They want their fee.
It is possible, if you have a US domiciled bank account (eg RBC US domiciled works) to get a native US paypal account (you also need a US address) but it's not free to get the money from your Canadian paypal account to your US paypal account, although I don't recall the amount of those fees any more. (I have both US and Canadian Paypal now, and am careful to take payment in the one for each currency).

He also said he was Jewish. If he's lying (or you?) about that that's about as scummy as it gets and if he isn't than that's about the worse news anyone could have. Shortly after my dad passed away in 2023 my oldest sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it was an entire month before she passed. The thing spread through her body like a wild fire.
Hopefully it's bull#### and he's just a weird little attention seeker.
