I can't believe that dumbass re-signed there for 2 more years.

Hopefully he doesn't end up getting traded so the oilers get some sort of return for him.

This could have all been over 8 months from now with him walking out the door and leaving the oilers with nothing to show for his 10+ years there but a couple of ass kickings in the final vs the Panthers.

Coronato is now not even looking for a pass.

We aren't going to snipe one this guy unless we screen him. Get bodies in front of him.

Does anyone have a link to the Goal-a song that annoyed the Oiler media fanboys and I think Kevin Lowe so much?

That is why he signed for two more years. He had no intention of staying beyond this season. He felt like he had to do them a solid to have leverage to trade him after this season.

I don't know why he would put his new team in a position where they have to weaken themselves significantly to acquire him. A truly stupid move if that was his plan, when he could just go UFA 9 months later and go wherever he wants to without knee capping his new org.

I never said he was smart. He just feels like it's the right thing to do. We all would appreciate it if our star players would give them Flames that opportunity...

It has been said that he's worried about his legacy with the Oilers and thinks he needs to win a cup with them before he goes and that he has one more year before that chance disappears. We all know how wrong he is on that...

By giving the Oilers a chance to save face he also thinks he's saving face and he'll receive a hero's farewell when it's announced out of the blue that they traded him... He's also an probably wrong on that part too.

The day he leaves Edmonton will probably look like "a debacle of monumental proportions"

McDavid has to be regretting his decision at this point. This garbage team is nowhere close to being a Cup contender.

And yes, I know we all said that last year too, and the year before that. But this year's roster is clearly much worse than the teams that made it to the final. They got rid of most of the pieces that actually made them competitive and replaced them with barely AHL-level talent. And their goaltending and D are both significantly worse than the last two years.

I am sure that the Oilers will once again flip that switch and go up the standings, and finish comfortably in a playoff spot.

Hopefully this will be the year they match-up against a healthy contender in the 1st round. I can't see them getting by Vegas if Vegas is healthy, for instance. They really have to work hard at winning the division this year, but I don't think that will happen. It would be absolutely hilarious if they miss the playoffs, however, after McDavid signs an extension making everyone in Edmonton breathe a little easier!

It's easily foreseeable by agents, parents, friends, basically anyone that gives sound advice should have told this guy to tell the Oilers to trade him and sign a huge contract with a big market team.

He's a wimp. He's a wimp on the ice, in the dressing room, and in the boardroom.

I sure hope this blows up in his face. He could've been done with his prison sentence on July 1st of next year but instead wanted to stay in the cell with Leon

He's like a prisoner on the cusp of getting parole after 10yrs. He only remembers what life is like on the inside. Doing something new is scary, the unknown. In Edmonton, it's safe. He's adored. He makes the rules. Can do no wrong.

They actually miss Kane and Perry.

McDavid and Drai are past prime age for forwards. Still elite players but they may only be 90% effective as their peak age, and to carry the Oilers they need to be 100% peak.

Only solution to this problem, is more forwards, forwards and forward defence man and find another goalie that might also be able to be a forward.
