Could the air traffic controller flight throttling in the states impact Canada-Mexico flights for us (or other international flights that fly over the US)?

Unlikely, it would have to reach a fairly dire state for enroute overflights to be significantly impacted. They might restrict planes to certain airways like the old days or present-day China, or stagger planes going through a certain area so that one guy can monitor a lager area.

Entire UPS MD-11 fleet grounded indefinitely. 27 frames.

AA191 is one of my most memorable Mayday episodes because of the camera view passengers had out front. Eerily similar.

I live close to Boeing field and see them frequently. That's a lot of freight capacity sitting on the ground.

FedEx has suspended their MD-11 flights too, Western Global expected to follow suit.

Grounding recommended by Boeing, cynical side of me says it's just that they finally found a reason to push operators into retiring them

FAA directive now for US carriers to ground the MD11. Have to think this will be the final nail in the coffin for Western Global Airlines

It's starting to get ugly now, mostly out of Toronto. It's getting tough to find a route to the Carribean that ATC can handle. Out of YYC to Mexico we're still hanging on.

From Calgary, probably not. But we're struggling.
