Watching on TV I saw the foot come up...I wasn't celebrating yet but I thought it would be reversed on review based on my live look. I can see how someone behind the backstop thought the same. Foot comes up, I assumed he didn't get it back. Humble brag I have a 100 inch TV and was like 3 feet away from it with anticipation.
As for someone in the nosebleeds IDK, one person starts going crazy and they all do

It's kinda much ado about stuffing and all that. Given the situation it was probably one of the most intense moments many of those people who were there had ever lived.

If my nerves were shot to the point my hands were shaking I can only imagine how bad it was for people there. Some might have been so zoned out that they didn't even know what the call was and just went on instinct based on what they saw from their angle.
I didn't see the foot go up until they mentioned it in the replay but I thought it was close and it would be challenged. Umps screw up close calls so much that I don't trust them until the other team declines to challenge.

They would have needed 1,000,000% certainty to override the call on the field and decide the World Series. I get the challenge for sure but it would have almost needed to be so obvious that you’d have see it without the replay.

I meam, on a world series deciding play if you think there's a chance you should challenge. They get another challenge every extra inning anyway, so not really much downside.

I think the out is recorded even before the foot comes up the ball only has to hit the glove.

Losing the WS, such a bitter pill.
Losing the WS to the Dodgers, even more bitter.
Losing the WS to the Dodgers the way they did, even more bitterer.
1. They beat the Jays out on every big FA signing (Ohtani, Yamamoto, Sasaki)
2. Jays get to the WS despite that, but are heavy under dogs
3. Jays out hit, out score and out play the mighty Dodgers in the 7 game series
4. Have two chances to win it all at home with the best home record in MLB all year
5. Two outs away from winning
6. Winning run 90 feet away with 1 out in the bottom of 9 for a walk off WS win
How much salt can they pour into one wound. Sports can be so cruel sometimes.

Yeah. If Ernie's at-bat (and deep fly ball) had come before Varsho's that was a walk off even with Pages catching it.

Have been thinking about all this (and all of the other improbable events that fell the way of the Dodgers), and have been saying to a few people - that there is no imaginable way that for the rest of my life I can possibly suffer a worse sports heartbreak.
My favourite sport
My favourite team in said sport
World Series
Game 7
Extra innings
All the ridiculous things you mentioned plus others.
Literal Centimeters away
It's a complete horror. I will never truly get over this one.

We forget that the Dodgers lost back to back WS both at home in 2017 and 2018. They spend the money to remain there. Now they have 3 titles.
Jays are right there. Need to invest to remain there.

Yeah for sure. Getting back there next year and winning it this time would sure help.

It would help, but not sure if that would make it go away. Sometimes I think back to Game 2 of the '86 Cup Final. What if we would have won in OT and got a 2-0 series lead? That's even with winning over the same team three years later.

Yeah, same for me. I have never been as invested in a team as I was for this run.
Closest would be Flames '04 but this feels even worse than that to me.

It would be like the Flames giving up the lead with 30 seconds left and then losing in OT. Atleast we had time to accept the way the game went the Flames probably weren't coming back. I didn't even watch the last half of the game. I just sat in silence dejected occasionally checking the score and hoping for a miracle.
They were 2 outs away and Hoffman had to give up a home run to one of the least likely batters. I wasn't even worried about that at bat. I was more worried about them either giving up the lead to Ohtani or walking him and giving Smith a chance to take the lead.

Key difference is that Ohtani isn't a once in a generation player, he's a once in a lifetime player.

The mistake was getting to 3 balls on Rojas and then having to throw a meatball in fear of walking him in front of Ohtani.

The news announced today about Alex Vesia is no surprise as it was suspected... heartbreaking.
