They'll need to send Stutzle this way.

Winnipeg and Montreal are the two best fits in terms of need and assets. Both have the picks and prospects to pull this off. Both need a 2nd line centre with grit.
Tough part is Winnipeg could be on Kadri’s NT list and Montreal may not be willing to pay the price as they are pretty savvy in terms of their rebuild patience.

Flames should not be targeting a second line center. I think frost fills that gap for quite some time.

Kadri would absolutely devastate Leaf nation if they saw what he’s become in Montreal… I love this idea for that alone.

I suspect it's not. Kadri's list seems different than others. He favours Canada and voids red states.

The Jets have spent the better part of a decade trying to find a 2nd line C. They’ve blown loads of draft capital in that search, but they’re in win now mode so maybe they’ll take a run at Kadri.
Monahan (1st + 3rd)
Dubois (Laine)
Hayes (1st + 4th + Lemieux)
Stastny (1st + 4th)

Every Canadian team outside of Ottawa could be a good fit for Kadri. If the Canucks continue to be mediocre they make less sense as they could be trending towards having to deal Hughes and rebuild.
Edmonton is a no but they would absolutely love to have Kadri going up against Florida.
Winnipeg is a very interesting fit. They have spent 1sts chasing 2nd line C rentals so would they pay big to get one for this year and 3 more? Their team is built to compete for the remainder of Kadri’s contract.
Toronto like Edmonton has nothing to offer. Treliving loves Kadri and of course they would love to get him back.
Ottawa with Stutzle, Cozens, Pinto they appear to be set for the foreseeable future.
Montreal makes arguably the most sense of all as he brings veteran leadership, grit etc to a young up and coming exciting team. As Kadri ages out Hage rises up and seems like a perfect fit for a team ahead of schedule.
Is Perfetti, Yager, 1st too much to ask? Probably right?

Winnipeg was probably hoping Toews would play well enough for 2C. Kadri would be an upgrade and then they'd be quite deep down the middle with Toews and Lowry.
They have some decent prospects. What do they own for picks?

If Kadri's preference is to stay in Canada: Vancouver, Montreal, and Winnipeg all still own their 2026 first rounders. Edmonton, Toronto, and Ottawa do not.

Respectfully, does it matter what Kadris preference is?
He has a 13 team NTC with 3 years left on his contract (we're not worried about of he's wiling to re-signing there) As long as we're not trading him to one of those, we're good.

Yes. It does.
It does matter how the Flames treat their players.

Ok, honestly, now that we are on a win streak - does management put all calls on hold because we are still trying to figure out if we have a chance?

How is that treating him poorly?
It seems like it would be treating him fairly.
You would be okay reducing the pool of potential teams from 18 to 6 if Kadri prefers to stay in Canada?

I think all cards were already on hold.
If they keep winning it will certainly delay it longer.

Hard to know I think. Unless their maths guys figure a small heater can overcome such a horrid start to the season Id be inclined to believe that the calls keep being answered.
If MTL want to offer up a Beck or a Hage or Kapanen or even Reinbacher you have to listen.
Same with WPG if they're offering up a Lambert or Yager.
Kadris been a consummate pro but I also believe that as much as he likes it in CGY and can ride his deal out here and lead the team, he also probably wouldn't mind a chance at another championship.
And you still have to take any and all calls on Andersson. Hes gone regardless.

We are talking preference as in "who does he prefer and therefore has on his list".

Again, not what I'm referring too.
Someone specifically said "if he prefers to stay in Canada". Not who he has "preferred"??? on his NTC.
