Crashed into a parking lot. Hopefully no one on the ground was killed but there are huge fires.

MD-11, wide body freighter full of fuel. Pretty easy to see a fire on #1 engine, brutal is right.

Reporting at least 9 killed as of this morning, so most likely casualties on the ground too.

The Federal Aviation Administration will reduce flight capacity by 10% at 40 major airports across the country, officials announced during a press conference on Wednesday.

The decision could cut thousands of flights per day.

The restrictions will go into effect Friday morning, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.

A US judge agreed to drop criminal charges against Boeing on Thursday over deadly crashes of its 737 MAX 8 aircraft as part of an agreement between the company and prosecutors.

The Texas judge's decision stems from an agreement reached between the Department of Justice and the aircraft manufacturer to resolve the matter, announced on May 23, following the crashes which resulted in 346 fatalities.

Doesnt seem much different than Trudeau's treatment of SNC Lavelin and their deferred prosecution agreements.

The first thought with this Louisville crash is AA191, a DC-10 that lost its left engine on the runway. That was a poorly designed engine pylon compounded by poor maintenance... I don't actually know if MD-11 has a revised pylon and I've made an effort to not watch any of the commentary associated with this crash since it happened.

I just read about that AA191 incident. It is frighteningly similar...
