Yes, but not now. Winning now means not tanking and that just won’t go over well. You must be new here.

Pachal would be a better Tanev replacement. Just because Toronto has a very weak right side right now.

This is good to hear, I can’t help but cheer for Bean. In camp, Huska noted that he had a very good summer, training-wise, where he was injured the summer before- thus unable to fully put the work in.

Bahl - Weegar

Roll 7 D, let Kuz and Parekh flourish in their roles, sub in Hanley on that bottom pair. Play all 3 "pairs" 20min each ish. Elevate Kuz/Parekh as they mature with them hopefully supplanting the 2nd pair in time.
Come closer to TDL
Trade Pachal, Hanley
Bahl - Weegar
Kuz - Parekh
Bean - Brz
Grushnikov
Repeat the above, putting Grush and Brz in places to flourish, profit? It's not a very mean defense though outside of Weegar, maybe Crushnikov.

I like the first half. Not really a fan of the TDL move, unless you mean the 2027 TDL.
There is no need to rush Brzustewicz or Grushnikov into this season. They are all better off if we leave them on the Wranglers and leave Pachal and Hanley with the Flames.
Trading Andersson is enough. Bringing Parekh and Kuznetsov online this season is enough.

Are either Brzustewicz or Grushnikov waiver eligible next season? If so, I think it’s valuable to get them a good chunk of experience in the NHL this season. Helps prepare them for next season so they have the best opportunity to make the team and have any worries about waivers.

Brz is still exempt for 1 more year, while Grushnikov becomes eligible.

I did mean this TDL, but can certainly understand there's no huge rush to get the young guys up. I think more than that, it's to capitalize on assets without truly taking a huge step back? Even a couple 3rd or 4th rounders could be found money potentially.

Part of me would like to see:
Weegar-Andersson
Bahl-Parekh
Kuznetsov-Brzustewicz

After the TDL there's no roster limit (subject only to the cap), so those kids can br brought up anyway. The Wranglers would suffer and there'd be a lot of guys in the Flames dressing room though. If you are worried about waivers you could rotate guys through.

No roster limit but isn't there a limit on how many recalls you can use?

After the TDL you can use 4 non emergency recalls (5 next year). They wouldn't use that many.

I do not think there is much value in the extra late round picks. Our summer fun of voting on prospect rankings went to 39 rounds this summer.
Adding more 3rd and 4th rounders just piles onto the logjam we already have without addressing any of the organizational needs. It also thins out the D group too much if you are basically left with Weegar, Bahl, and Bean as your only vets back there.
I love the idea of a youth movement in the team but that is getting a bit reckless. The young guys need more time to play sheltered minutes, learn the game, and more importantly develop physically so they do not get significantly injured early in their career.
Moving through this season with Kuznetsov and Parekh is enough to celebrate. 30% of the D group are rookies. Yay!

Happy for Kuzy. He's been super solid for the last 8 games. For people wanting Grushnikov in the lineup at some point, he hasn't been fantastic. In fact he was a healthy scratch last game for the Wranglers. Hopefully he turns that around.
