I was in Austin in the last couple of weeks, and I wasn't blown away. It's interesting because I hear all this stuff about Austin and how amazing it is, and it was "OK" but not particularly noteworthy.
I like the vibe of hanging out in a lot of college towns in the Southern US. Auburn, Charlottesville, Chapel Hill, Blacksburg, Tempe, Austin, etc. You get much more liberal or moderate politics compared to the state, and have cool places to eat and outdoorsy stuff to do. I don't know that anyone is going to be blown away by those on a vacation, but they all feel very live-able, with Austin being more of a real city.
NYC is far too hectic for me, nice to visit but I could never live there, but there are lots of really nice places in pre/(hopefully) post Trump New York State that arent NYC.
I've only ever been to Dallas and not even that much of it so I cant really say.

The World Ends when you're dead. Until then, you've got more punishment in store. - Flames Fans
If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Houston is so weird. The building code allows for some really odd choices and the rush hour traffic is atrocious.

These guys come in and it’s always a nice polite one. You serve them because you dont want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.
And THEY bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh, this is a Nazi bar now. And its too late because they’re entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

Mamdani has done it. Hell of a rise from January until now. Looking forward to the Dem establishment ignoring everything that drove his rise so they can do jack#### next November.

Republicans Reprise Unfounded Claims of Widespread Election Interference
Prominent conservatives, including the president, sounded familiar alarms about voter suppression and other efforts to manipulate the vote on Election Day, without presenting evidence.
The cities in Texas are all awful. This is not my idea of a nice environment to spend my time:
I find downtown Calgary or Edmonton significantly more interesting places to spend a day than Downtown Houston. Yes. Even Edmonton.
I'm not fan of Texas but give me this road infrastructure any day of the week.
Living in a "beautiful" city like Vancouver where you have to drive residential streets to serve as freeways in rush hour is stupid.
Take the ugly wide freeway; get off and get to your nice environment to spend your time.

Even better, replace all of this with light rail that comes often.
