Lifetime In Suspension

While I'm kinda of hoping not hoping the Waddle to Denver rumours don't happen the Colts are wild men. Two firsts for Sauce Gardner so clearly they're all in on Danny Dimes. He's gonna have a nice contract next year

That is an insane overpay by the Colts just when Danny Dimes Linsanity run is starting to end. I mean credit for the ballsy approach, but this has disaster written all over it.

Shaheed is going to cook in that offence. And wow at that return for Sauce...Colts clearly all-in on this season.

Looks like Jacobi Meyers is off to Jacksonville with Travis Hunter already on IR and BTJ looking like he'll miss some time.
Also appears to have flown under the radar, but Howie Roseman also stole Jalen Phillips from the Dolphins yesterday.

Looks like the Jets are burning things to the ground and while it's nice to get those 1st round picks, I'm not so confident in the current brain trust that guaranteed $30 million to Justin Fields are the guys to oversee the rebuild.

The cost is probably fair for a 25 year old former 4th overall pick that already has 2 1st team All Pro selections...although not as good the last season and a bit.
The problem is more the Colts are probably not the team that should have paid that price, due to the uncertainty with those picks.

The likelihood the Jets waste the picks is high, but that's a separate consideration. The trade itself is a home run. But yeah I don't get the extreme aggressiveness from the Colts. If Danny Dimes really did have a Linsanity run then the Colts will have to invest more draft capital this offseason getting a QB that can make them a contender so that next year's first isn't a top 10 pick to the Jets. Clearly they believe in Danny.

Jets also trade Quinnen Williams to Dallas for a 2026 2nd and a 2027 1st.
There's scorched Earth, and then there's this. Wow.

Maybe Woody Johnson will let his Grand Kids make a few picks.

Again I get that the Jets will probably waste the picks, but they are at least being smart and not naive about where they are right now. Should probably trade Wilson too at this point, should be able to net another first.

2026: 1st NYJ, 1st IND, 2nd NYJ, 2nd DAL
2027: 1st NYJ, 1st IND, 1st DAL, 2nd NYJ
crazy. In theory, that's too many bullets in the chamber to F it up, but it's the Jets.

Kinda look like the Lions when Campbell started, atrocious first season but accumulating lots of futures.

Jets can screw that up. Likely going to take a QB with one of those picks which will be an automatic fail.

This is interesting. Most people thought, hey, the pass game is working; if they can get an experienced RG maybe they can boost the run game to match. My initial view was that it indicates a pivot from what the Seahawks wanted to be to what they're actually doing well - i.e., they came into the season wanting to be a run-first team that slowly marches up the field eating clock, but they haven't been great running the ball, so they're going to pivot to what has actually been working - Sam Darnold throwing bombs.
After further consideration though, I think it actually is an attempt to boost the run game in a different way: presumably they didn't like the guard options on the market, so they figured, OK, we're getting stacked boxes at a high rate and that's resulting in a lot of runs getting stuffed... what if we make it impossible for our opponents to do that? Cover 1 is now hereby forbidden when playing against Seattle. That does open up more room for the running backs.
Either way I like it given the built-in familiarity with Kubiak from last year.

The good thing is it's a fake trade, on a fake deadline day, for a fake sport. Just vibes away.

Not at all, we're just ribbing you. And, again, when the Seahawks have a penalty called against them that has only been twice in the history of the sport to end their season in the playoffs, it's gonna be goddamn hilarious.

I totally expect it. I lived through Super Bowl XL and there was arguably no faker game than that. But the whole point is that it happens throughout the season and it's not just about bad calls in the playoffs.

Honestly might be top three most forgettable Super Bowls ever. Wasn't good, wasn't bad, wasn't so lopsided it was memorable for that, wasn't particularly competitive, it happened and we all moved on like it never did.
