Because a monster died of old age? He got away with it. I dunno what there is to celebrate.

Yeah, Cuomo lost the Democratic Primary to Mamdani and is running as an Independent. Like his endorsers...he had a suit for Sexual harassment brought against him by I think 11 women back in 2020 which resulted in him leaving office. Not exactly someone who's going to appeal to younger voters.

But the older, white American non-Republicans likely prefer Cuomo, with all his baggage and wearing an independent badge, over the brown guy

He's quite different from the two old white guys he's up against with a platform for affordability with free transit, rent holds, and free child care. Plus the dreaded 2% tax increase for those with 7 figure incomes. He draws the ire of Trump and a lot of other republicans...and I think a few elitist democrats too.

I'm interested to see if he does win because I've been wondering if we don't see a much harder left rise up to take on MAGA. Part of me wonders how long until it get's violent.

Many states do have an exit tax for leaving....but I guess a Tariff for showing up is something new. Doesn't matter, these New Yorkers will just go to Florida...those with measly 7 figure net worth's might have to settle for Georgia or South Carolina.
Exit taxes are not constitutional. There are no states with a direct exit tax. I don’t see how anything Abbott does would be constitutional.

Yeah, Cheney was crazy evil.

The invasion on false pretenses.

The architect of the torture tactics that were used for punishment and not interrogation.

The erosion of citizens' privacy rights.

And the list goes on.

Uhm, how do you do that? Like, what are you tariffing? If you are wondering how that can even be a thing, or if it's legal, well keep reading!

Ya, so no. A clown show could learn a thing or two from these bozos.
Who in their right fn mind would move from New York to Texas anyhow?

You can buy an absolute mansion in TX for like $500,000.

And the weather is nice.

And the BBQ and Mexican food is insane.

And the power grid is mostly good, ignoring extreme weather events like it getting slightly cold.

Much longer golf season in Texas.

I'd pick living in Austin over NYC for almost all stages of my life. I'm sure lots wouldn't though.

lol yeah. Hearing the weather is good is quite a thing. I suppose one could mean it comparatively to a Saskatchewan winter it's good but anywhere in Texas, east west south north, in the summer is literal hell on earth. There are like three Neighbourhoods in Austin worth living in and the rest could be razed tomorrow

I was in Austin in the last couple of weeks, and I wasn't blown away. It's interesting because I hear all this stuff about Austin and how amazing it is, and it was "OK" but not particularly noteworthy.

Different strokes for different folks, but I'm right there with you. I am pretty sure I would hate to live in a place like New York. Nice place to a be a tourist, sure, but to live there 365 days a year with "in the way" people everywhere, crappy weather, and those prices? Fahgettaboudit.
